Abortion

cheap? maybe. rhetoric? how?

It's useless because it's a baseless assumption of situation that people who are against abortion use, without fail, each and every time.

Furthermore, people make mistakes, we're allowed to rectify and alter them. Why shouldn't women be able to do the same with foetuses? They should, end.

Not entirely baseless, I don't think the majority or even a large percentage of abortions are preformed merely as birth control. It's fairly safe to assume that most abortions are done by women who either didn't want to get pregnant or didn't expect to get pregnant at 'this time'.

Correct, people are allowed to "rectify" mistakes, the antiabortion issue is whether this rectifying infringes on another's life. <--- This has been covered back and forth in these pages already.

and what percentage of those used defective birth control? thats why the rhetoric is strawman garbage. its implication is that women who get abortions do so because they were too stupid to know what happens when a man ejactulates inside her, or even that she just decided 'naaaaaaa' with some blase attitude.

it has no place in a debate as its rooted in fallacy.

I don't know the percentages of unwanted births caused by defective birth control per se; there is also a percentage of unwanted birthed caused by outright laziness and/or stupidity. That is why I said his reasoning wasn't "entirely baseless", instead of "it's concrete reasoning!"

yes it is baseless as there is no place for it in a debate on abortion.

unless a survey of sorts is taken and a rough percentage of circumstance leading to abortion can be found, its simply a straw man in every way. so yes, its baseless. thats not suggesting it never happens, but rather that its baseless in this discussion. some serial killers are homosexuals. does this have a place in a debate over why people become serial killers?

:edit: what i mean is, unless someone can apply it to the topic:
"60% of abortions come from unprotected sex according to *reputable source*", then its useless speculation.

It was baseless in the sense that the debate "She deserves to deal with it." has no place here.

It can be dispelled as quickly as it's brought up, and has been.

I think his words were "take responsibility" and "be an adult"... nothing to do with deserving something/punishment.

Awesome.

Of course, but the assumption that [% of] unwanted pregnancies are caused by defective products is also a speculation, unless there's some source?

It really comes down to, is abortion taking/killing life? <---- This has been covered repeatedly.

i know. i simply brought it up as a counter-fallacy. a sort of "2 can play" statement on the matter. wasnt trying to pass it off as relevant to anything but that.

iunderstatement. its been the whole ****ing thread.

Hence my wanting the thread to die at 10k post, unless someone has some new and relevant information to sway the argument either way.

He clearly meant she should have to deal with it as in, birth.

He'll probably deny this now.
