I know that aready. But the guy should still have a choice too.Again since either of you said anything about it . It is called sexist.jm

It's more sexist to tell the female that she has no control over her body because the male, who endures a whopping 0% pain for the baby, decides he wants her to have it.

Yes, I would. It is her body.

How would you feel if someone made you get an abortion against your will?

In cases where a man or boy gets a woman or teenage girl pregnant and it is awkward for whatever reason then since the child came from his sperm, I would be inclined to say that he should live with whatever decision she makes (no matter how deranged that might be) and pay to support it where necessary too.

Of course, it is too simplistic to make generalised rules where each case is defined by the specific circumstances. It's interesting to speculate on such things as what rights eg the biological grandparents should have though.

Well, the thing is that when it comes to child support it is similar to the pregnancy issue, isn't it?

Yes, and I have no sympathy with a biological father who wants to get out of paying for his child. I might add though that the laws in place in the US which FORCE a male to pay for a child that is NOT his biologically are completely wrong and unjust.

Yes. It is her decision.

It's kind of hard to say that now, B. when she has a life in her, a life that is part of you, that you helped create, you might change your tune. you never know.

B-but it is the same sort of situation really.

You have sympathy for a biological mother who wants to get out of rasing a child but not for a father?

Double standard?

I'm not biased in favour of womankind to any degree in anything, I'm just stating 'you play you pay.' I don't believe anyone should be forced to raise a child, but they should definitely be forced to pay for their biological child. If a person is not fit to raise a child then they should not be allowed to, but the question of simply paying money doesn't touch on that issue.

I suppose I take the view that the mother should get more choice over what happens to her embryo or her fetus because she is the one who is growing it so to speak. I am not against the idea of abortions being performed where they are necessary.

B-but women have a way out, men don't. How is that fair?

I suppose the only difference between the genders that can be proven for certain is the difference between who grows a baby and who doesn't. I don't know whether or not it can be called a double standard, but it is the case that in this one instance the circumstances between the members of opposite genders are categorically different.

In order to not seem biased I would add that no man should be forced to provide for a child that is not from his gamete, whatever the mother thinks.

Well, that is just common sense.

I am just saying that we might need to think about fathers having no say and having to pay for the child, possibly having no rights to even see it...

I would not let them.Nor would I put myself into that or marry someone that thinks that way. Both me and my husband to be is very prolife.jm

What happened to this equal say mantra you maintained just a few posts ago? It sounds like you believe it to be ultimately up to the woman as well.

i love you

lets have an abortion

No I said that it is up to man also,Where did I say it was only up to the woman? It takes two people to make a baby not just one.So why should the man not be allowed that choice>jm
