They exist and I'm just as ill-at-ease around them. I know they exist because when I first started going to the gay bar in my home town, there was a retard night. Tuesday if I recall correctly. The handicapped van of a local home would back up, drop their motorized ramp and there would be people dancing in circles, hitting on themselves in the mirror and every once in a while one would zoom by in an electric wheelchair. One took a shine to me one night and I had to have security keep him away from me. Not really because I was affraid of him, but his twisted, palsied hands had a tendancy to wander. Needless to say, Tuesday was the least popular night of the week.
