Abortion

Empathy, you say? How about having some empathy for that unborn child who didn't ask to be conceived and now has to suffer thru great pain (however brief it may be) and die because his or her mother and the guy whom she spread her legs for only cared about their own very short-term pleasure and now the mother sees the child as an inconvenience?

I certainly think there are special cases where good arguments can be made that abortion should be legal (mainly in cases of rape or ones in which the mother's life would be in danger) but those are only a tiny percentage of the overall number of abortions.

You don't have to sell me on that, that's why I spoke of first world vs third world abortions. I am against them on a personal lvl but don't believe that's a tenable position for the USA and I am open to legal first term abortions......later terms not so much minus problems with mother or unborn child.

Yup

My problem with how abortion currently looks is that we're trying to remove the aspect of responsibility and weight of the decision. We're trying to be like "it's not human at this stage, we can remove the fetus early".

Abortion should be legal only in late pregnancy; right now aborting fetuses without any sign of neural activity is an insignificant decision. Allowing the abortion but only after 6-7 months would make it a powerful and defining moment again. I'm all for freedom, but we should also promote responsibility. Current state dilutes the weight of the decision.

Five Fetuses Found in Home of Indicted Anti-Abortion Activist

Police discovered five fetuses at the home of an anti-abortion activist in Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

Officers responded shortly after noon to a home on the 400 block of 6th Street SE to investigate a tip about potential bio-hazard material in the residence. Once inside, they located the fetuses. The remains were collected by the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The home was occupied by Lauren Handy, an anti-abortion activist who was indicted along with nine others Wednesday by a federal grand jury. Handy is accused of felony conspiracy against rights for a blockade inside a D.C. abortion clinic in October 2020.

Once again, every conservative accusation is actually a confession.

More conservatives have abortions than progressives. Clinic escorts have reported "Pro-Lifers" demonstrating outside a clinic one day, and being escorted inside for an abortion the next. Some even return to picketing afterwards. The cognitive dissonance is off the charts.

Noice!

Not surprising given right-wing hypocrisy.

Trump and Biden should have both been aborted. 👆

Its same with muslim girls over here (and probably in the states) tbf. Its because it wouldnt be acceptable to their families. Bringing home a baby but not a husband.

Yet most consider abortion a sin, so theres a natural contradiction there.

Unfortunately abortions can be used as a 2nd attempt at contraception.

That's what happens when you live in a country that doesn't provide the morning after pill.

I remember this thread.

i don't believe it's just the mothers or the fathers choice but a joint decision and if 1 doesn't want the child then when its born they shouldn't have anything to do with it including monetarily.
