The Whale (2022)

Jesus christ, there is so much hype around this and it doesn't come out until December? 😬

Probably not a good thing at this point. Even if it's a very good movie, it won't live up to the uber levels of hype surrounding it.

Well that's a very subtle and vague trailer. I may leave it at that and just wait to see the movie.

I’m very keen on seeing this.

Critics are calling it a tear jerking film and Brendan’s comeback.

If they've given the lead to Christian Bale, Bale would have gained the 250lbs for the role.

The Wikipedia entry has a section about people crying that a fat actor wasn’t casted and how the film is fat shaming.

Damn snowflakes, I swear.

😆

Did any of you b!#ches see this yet?

This b!#ch did.

Fraser did a solid role most of the time, a few of the scenes felt overly forced though. The film is a kick in the balls emotionally and honestly hard to watch at times, with his super-extreme obesity, obsessive compulsive eating, his general sad state and his relationship with the various other characters.

I do recommend it though.

I have an ominous feeling that this will be a mixture of The Wrestler and.......the Mr. Creosote sketch ........ 😑 😘 😐 ......

I am still somewhat upset that this was not the plot 😐

Fraser trying to connect with his daughter is similar to the Wrestler and there is binge eating.

So you're not entirely wrong.

I have plans to see this tomorrow night. So that's cool. 😎

Watched this. Really liked it, as I often do with Darren Aronofsky.

It deserved a Best Picture nomination, imo. Got robbed.

Brilliant little play put to film.

It's amazing how much more sprawling movies can bore you to death and this film barely leaves the little apartment and is captivating.

I give it a 9-10/10.

Oh, and my god... those prosthetics.. unbelievable.
