Superboy Prime beat the hard shit out of the Darkest Knight. Not sure if power scaling was way off, or not? Did DC turn Superboy Prime into The One that destroys all, or did DC flatline Perpetua’s power level? How do you go from Monarch, who seemed to be possibly capable of defeating Perpetua’s sons if we scaled him off of Superboy’s Prime, who destroyed DK the guy that defeated Perpetua?

Power scaling was off in one issue out of dozens where Darkest Knight beat the shit out of everyone rather than Prime is just that powerful.Because why not.
How do you go from Monarch, to beating the guy that beat Perpetua? Not a tough question.
DK simply wasn’t that powerful nor was Perpetua. Unless of course, you’re saying that Superboy Prime would be a good match for Doctor Manhattan? That would mean that Monarch would be as well, which would place him above Perpetua’s sons.
You can’t defend shitty writing, you can only shake your head and keep it moving.

Because Prime is a plot device.
But, if you saw a comic book with Namor vs Iron Man, and Namor won, if if it was barely, he still won, and if Tony was giving his all to win and still lost, we should have two primary thoughts.
One, Namor and Iron Man are pretty much in the same power tier, and because the fight was so lengthy, we would also assume that on any given day, Iron Man may be able to win.
Because of this, many will assume that since Monarch was capable of giving Superboy Prime a run for his money, that if they faced off again, he would give him another run for his money.
Since Superboy Prime is within Monarch’s weight class and since Prime beat DK it wouldn’t be a stretch for people to believe that Monarch too could beat DK with similar difficulty.
Unless DK actually jobbed to Prime, which would make far more sense.
In a forum battle DK would crucify Prime and Monarch combined based solely on his power set. He had the power to place Prime in a time loop, where he never leaves the comic book store. This is why Prime can not defeat characters that are able to shape reality offensively and defensively.
The plot bullet explanation is really the only thing to go on true, however, if blissfully ignores what the other characters can actually do, and in so doing Prime would be helpless to stop them.
Them? Characters like Doctor M, the Beyonder, DK, Perpetua, etc.
If we accept that Prime is able to defeat them, they simply aren’t as powerful as we imagined them to be, or they jobbed hard.

Prime and monarch weren’t in the same class, and prime fighting him shouldn’t raise monarch to DK level or bring DK to monarchs level.
DK was taking on perpetua and the entire dcu, not sure if monarch ever displayed such power or even hinted of having it.
Then we have to consider that Prime fought DK much later, his powers could have grown.
He was manipulating entire realities while fighting the supermen corrupted by DK.
He also stated that he could have taken DK’s power if he wanted to.
DK knew he couldn’t beat prime and was pleading with him to just go away, even offering him his own universe. Prime that fought DK was a lot more powerful than the one that killed monarch, so prime vs monarch fight should not be used to elevate monarch to DK’s level or bring DK to monarchs level.

The latest version of Superboy Prime seemed to have a different origin story than the one of Infinite Crisis right? I mean he only became powerful later on, as he was a normal teen living a normal teen’s life.
Perhaps there is no correlation, but if there is, Superboy had a much easier time defeating DK than he did fighting Monarch. Using ABC logic which is actually legit a lot of the time, would place Monarch well above the bullshit that was written when Superboy Prime beat the shit out of DK who should have seen him as a threat well before he ever unglued his ass from the rock that he sat on.
Choose your poison; either accept what was written, or ignore it. However I choose to go by what I read. Snyder went full dummy mode in that fight. Prime should have been aided by others imo. To solo pushed DK and Perpetua down to Monarch level.

The only correct part of your post was that it was an analogy.
In short, that it was shit and sucked ass.
