Not sure how they're gonna fit that weird aesthetic in with the rest of the MCU unless this is just another weird looking alternative universe earth.

Bingo.

Safe bet they'll end up in the mainstream & current MCU reality somehow.

If not now, then maybe after Secret Wars or something.

Unless the movie turns out to be a disaster (again), of course.

It’s defo another Universe. Remember Dr.Doom will be an alternate Tony Stark from another Universe (presumably this one).

Yeah that makes sense.

Guess we can look forward to more lazy writing and stories with zero sense of jeopardy given that any consequence can just be undone because "der mooltiverse"

That's the problem with the superhero genre in general... and most Hollywood films, to be honest... regardless of the shenanigans involving alternate realities or time travel.

That's why most story telling is garbage now. No multiverse is even required. "Somehow Palpatine survived", for example. The problem is that these popular characters are all lucrative assets, so to kill them off is to kill or diminishes the asset, so they bring dead characters back to life. Who started this? Was it started by Superman's "death"? Or was it before that when Optimus Prime was brought back from the dead? or did we see the first red flags even before all that when Robin was first killed off, soon to be replaced by another Robin. Wherever this shit began, that was the beginning of the end

😂😂

Holy crap that was actually kinda perfect

😅😅

As much as I laughed, that's not an accurate comparison. Jesus was killed and resurrected in the same book, so he's really more like Robocop or The Crow (Goth version of Robocop), in that the resurrection was part of the original story, as opposed to a retcon

"Paul Walter Hauser says he thinks ‘THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS’ will reinvigorate the MCU"

Doubt he'd say it without top exec approval, so at least they're aware the MCU has been sucking dirty ass more often than not for some time now.

I think the last good MCU film at least for me was either Spider-Man: No Way Home or Shang-Chi.

^^^I’ll second that.

It looks to me like they are confident in it. Because going by the Avengers😄oomsday cast, it seems the FF are likely leading the heroes in that one. So a lot riding on it for sure.

To note though, Marvel was also confident in the Eternals, so sometimes they get it wrong with their expectations.

In their defense, Kirby was likely confident in Eternals, too. 😈

Forgot to add Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 & Deadpool & Wolverine

so out of those 4 films at least

I'd rather re-read the Eternals comic run then rewatch the actual film.

Neither were good.

I've not read anything about FF:FS having an unusual amount of reshoots, so that's one plus.
