on a completely different note

doomsday clock is better than watchmen and you cannot convince me otherwise

doctor manhattan's character was perfected later on after watchmen. and his self reflection while being moved by the humanity in superman and eventually giving up his godhood to save the watchmen universe was beautiful

it became much more than the Trolley problem between veidt and Rorschach

it wasn't just about peace based on lie

it wasn't just about justice and punishment

it became manhattan seeing humanity in superman's godhood. he was moved to see superman always looking for the third option and not just
the

"you destroy me or I destroy the world"

mentality

I liked Constantine as a movie. As an adaptation? It's not great. But I still think there's plenty to like about it.

I liked Watchmen too, but it obviously doesn't hold a candle to the source material.

I try my best to respect people's likes when they're different than mine, but Jesus Christ.

I mean, you do you and all, but damn.

watchmen... doesn't hold a candle to source material?

it literally....copied the source material into the movie frame by frame....

how would that not hold a candle.....to the source material?

because its.....written in paper? cause that's gotta be the only reason

No giant squids man.

It left out a bunch of stuff that was part of the original. They even released an Ultimate Cut to add shit back in. The main plot is pretty intact bar the ending, sure, but things like tone aren't as easy to translate. It isn't just what you present, it's how you present it.

I'm not saying the movie is bad. It isn't, imo. It has a lot of things I really like. But it ain't the same.

Also, ZSJL over Burton's Batman? Or Donner's Superman? Really?

burton's batman? lol? that dorky shit?

reeves superman ?

dceu and snydercut were by no mean good movies

but man of steel and flash alone trump those old movies from the 90s and 80s with entertainment value alone

the cgi was terrible, dialogue was corny. acting was cringey. what's so good about it other than it being simply "classic" and people suppose to like it because it's well acclaimed? snydercut justice league was so far superior to any of the reeves superman it's not even funny.

man of steel alone was revolutionary with it's fighting style, it was the first time western superhero movie used dbz style speed and power battle. it fight like what we saw in matrix and many other similar kind of movie aesthetic

Oh my. Oh darn. Well shit, at least I can't say you're not earnest.

Also, The Flash was dogshit.

==

Winter Soldier > Logan.

I also have a lot of love for Winter Soldier, so I'm pretty ambivalent about that ranking.

Same with Into the Spider-Verse

Hey, if action/fights are primarily why you watch these movies, then you do you. TBH, one of the few good things about Man of Steel is how good the action scenes are.

Flash is still shite though. And that multiversal stuff was pretty weak I thought. The cameo at the end was funny though.

well at least you admit man of steel had amazing fight scenes

it was first time dbz style hyper fast battle sequence being used in western comic book movies

and that's gotta count for something.

the flash is only "shit" because the dc doesnt have cgi budget to make it good anymore. the story itself isn't bad.

I like Snyder as an action director. Man of Steel, Justice League, and I really like his Dawn of the Dead remake. I like Watchmen too. But I think he's largely a terrible storyteller, and his interpretation of DC characters in general is not good. He needs a good writer to keep him in check, but even then, he has a tendency to have some weird tonal decisions too.

I don't think the story was good at all. I mean, sure, "Flash ****s with the timeline and has to recruit Batman and Supergirl to help him save the world so he can put things right" isn't a bad idea in and of itself, but I think the execution of it was largely shit, and no amount of budget will fix bad casting, bad art design and weak story beats.

that's the thing

snyder doesnt need to be a good storyteller

because the good story are already there for him to tell.

any of the last 20 years, any decent big event story

sinestro corps war, blackest knight etc all would make great movies

if only dc has some balls like marvel did (well at least before endgame that is )

remember that cw different shows doing a crossover crisis on infinite earth season?

and it was actually hella fun?

if only dc has the courage to put it on big screen

if only....

I really enjoyed The Flash.

^ Was it actually good? I was joining in the Ezra Miller embargo but it's not like he's the only one who made the movie. A lot of people produced it.

It's on Netflix. Worth a watch?

It's worth a watch, if only to get the cultural zeitgeist.That's....as high praise as I will go.

It's like a solid B movie. But Black Adam was more fun, take that as you will.

black adam was def better as far as fight scenes

the cgi just look better, in fact i love dr fate use of magic way more than strange

Yes, it's definitely worth a watch.

Also, I think the CGI criticisms are over-exaggerated, especially since there is a legitimate reason why the graphics appeared "distorted" at times.
