I'm a fan of Shazam and thought the first film was one of the best DCEU films, up there with the first Wonder Woman. It was disappointing this one got very mixed reviews by comparison, despite having all the same people behind the scenes.
But it's the catastrophically bad box office that is the real eye opener. This could be a real year of bitter pills for WB to swallow - everyone now knows the DCEU is getting rebooted, so audiences are taking the position that none of these films matter and are staying home. They can only hope now it's short term pain for long term gain.
But it's better than continuing to lurch around like they did, being 'filmmaker friendly' but being uneven as hell. Death to the Snyderverse is the only way forward.
The Flash is next up. I don't care at all for Ezra Miller's Flash; only intriguing thing is Michael Keaton's return as Batman. Could that galvanize the audience to come all by itself?
...And I see they continue to push Jennifer Holland's Emilia Harcourt, trying to make her the Agent Coulson of the DCEU. James Gunn, just stop.

I finally watched,,,,er slept through this one. Shazam deserves better. What a heaping pile of unicorn dung. The only positives I can even speak of is the mother is hot and Mary is a smoke show. She has Power Girl like assets if you know what I mean. Good idea with that recast.
she couldn't save this worthless piece of shit
