I remember back in the 80s, NI and the NRA/violence was on the news here quite a bit, But it largely stopped (aside from the larger attacks) by the early-mid 90s.

There are barricades separating Catholic and Protestant areas in Belfast.

There's enormous bonfires every year on 11th July the day prior to the Orange marches

Which themselves usually turn into riots as Protestant marches attempt to go through Catholic areas to commemorate the Battle of the Boyne in 1690 when the Protestant king William of Orange defeated the Catholic King James

The Ulster Unionists are not unlike Trumpers except, they are much more violent when triggered. The old adage in British and Irish politics used to be never get in bed with them, because they are simply that ****ing mad!
