Ok, according to the leaked story, Uber grew from a small start-up to a global behemoth by secretly bribing a lot of politicians, and gaining access to those politicians through Obama campaign heads? Or something?

My question is why would they get all this help when they were small? You need money to bribe people, no one has that kind of cash at the start. Why did the Obama people or all these officials even agree to a meet?

Doesn't add up. Is it possible the files aren't telling the whole story, and maybe some very ppwerful and/or rich people were fronting this thing, and the Uber execs were just front men to take the fall if this went south?

So what, record venture capital is the answer? It's not like venture capitalists hand out money like a faucet. They lend towards a business, not bribing politicians.

I mean they probably get a lot of requests from a lot of people. They probably ignore most of them.

I mean think about it, there's a million million startups. All of them want to take over the world. A lot of them get good venture capital, even if not as much as Uber. None of them have the most important people in the world on speed dial.

Uber did, and it doesn't make any sense. Why did anyone listen to them at the start? Why did anyone agree to hear them before they exploded?

Everyone makes big promises, everyone has a good plan, what made them so different?

Mark Cuban still regrets not investing in Uber as the Uber guys came to him first. He didn't think it was a viable business back then.

Have you tried.. let's see...clicking the multitude of links in the article to get details on each of the ways they lobbied and when and from who they got money. Maybe the answers you seek are there. The more you know.
