Russia has nukes, China has money
See, normally the United States would either break an economy, impose a ruler, or attack a target. The US can't attack Russia directly because they have nukes.
China is allied with Russia, meaning in exchange for funding they get protected with those same nukes.
I think this will come into play if we go to war with China. Russia depends on them to prop up their economy, they almost certainly will intervene, or otherwise be a factor.
Bottom line we can not outcompete China because we destroyed our domestic production capabilities, we can't attack them because of WMD, we are royally screwed here. Our own fault, we never should have let the Oligarchs take over, they only prosper when they hold all the cards and can not fight from a losing position, unlike China and Russia.
