Actually the CIA has been talking civil war for some time. Just like the US provoked an excuse to take Mexico, these persecutions are designed to provoke Republicans.

CD, that's not what that article is doing or saying.
So this here;
"Things deteriorated so dramatically under Trump, in fact, that the United States no longer technically qualifies as a democracy. Citing the Center for Systemic Peace’s “Polity” data set — the one the CIA task force has found to be most helpful in predicting instability and violence — Walter writes that the United States is now an “anocracy,” somewhere between a democracy and an autocratic state."
They don't state particulars.
Far as I know, Trump was booted out of office. The "insurrection" failed, so where is the autocracy?
What polices under Trump were autocratic?

I like this answer. 🙂
As I said, Golden Age Superman was definitely left wing. I loved the one where he demolished rat infested apartment buildings as the US military uselessly attacked him, and it turns out he did it to trigger a government program that resulted in better dwellings as affordable costs.
And then there was that time he pulled a munitions maker to the front lines, to scare him into quitting manufacture of the things.

Kind of liked that era, they talked about a lot more issues compared to today. Who even talks about run down apartment complexes run by greedy landlords who refuse to do their job and maintain them, or military weapons? Or for that matter living wages or working conditions?
It's all about handguns and identity politics now, and nothing else. Least that's what makes the corporate owned news.
It's almost like they intentionally curate issues that they know will get people engaged, but won't hurt their bottom line.
