Karnak did beat Surfer --- but only because Surfer got blindsided and he's even worse at fighting than Karnak is.

Yeah.

Logically, he should be able to one-shot most streets and some metas, too.

His somewhat superhuman physical attributes combined with his training (his gimmick is said to come from that, rather than exposure to Terrigen mists, he didn't get such treatment) should make most fights against lesser opponents a stomp in his favor.

People every year or so will create a Karnak thread and either don't know or seemingly forget that Karnak does next to nothing over and over again. He lives based almost entirely on hype and powerset but no real showings to back it up.

There was the time he beat the almighty Fantomex......

All the minor Inhumans (ie everyone that isn't Black Bolt) got a bit of a push for that event, in order to make them a credible opposing force to the X-Men.

Same way that the Eternals suddenly became a way more credible threat for the Eternals vs X event.

To be fair now, Fantomex wasn't exactly using any of his powers or gear.

Warren Ellis made Karnak look OP at least. Unambiguous bullet timing, one-shotting entire buildings, blowing up people's heads with his voice because even sonic frequency attacks have flaws. Trippy stuff.

yeah that series was actually pretty cool. not sure why no one ever picked up on that version of karnak. showed the potential the character had even though i was annoyed he beat fantomex lol
