Shogun (2024)

I read the books, loved the books, and am trying to give this a chance.

The woke crap is a given, but hoping there's the good to justify it and it isn't overtaken and destroyed as Preacher and Walking Dead was.

i have enjoyed all the episodes so far and do not except anything to change

It's almost a shame they didn't make it a longer mini-series. Maybe 2-4 more eps beyond the 10 we're getting.

From what I understand, ep10 (airs 4/23/24) is the book final.

You all are why everything is 💩

just 2 episodes ;eft

makes me f$cking sad

last night watched episode 9

great yet sad episode

Honestly, was kinda glad she went boom. She's been slowly dying since ep 1.

Well looks like I'll have to add this to my list.

Overall the series was great but the finale left me conflicted. It was very anti-climatic.

My biggest issue by far is how they "resolved" the entire plot by having Toranaga revealing his plan and how he will win. It was very unsatisfying and, frankly, feels unfinished. With that said, I did appreciate the reveal that Toranaga is not the honorable man he pretends to be but rather every bit the power hungry villain that the the regents claimed.

Then there is Blackthorn who is presented as the protagonist. And so the viewer expects him to do something, to matter. But nope, he's just a distraction. It may make sense and be "realistic", but it was very unsatisfying.

I thoroughly enjoyed this... excellent cast choices as I've been a fan of Henry Sanada and Tadanobu Asano for years. it was very well written... As for the final episode I feel was very open-ended yet good..

once the NFL Draft is over I will be rewatching this even more

***HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD***

The reason why Toranaga's endgame was shown in quick visions and not a huge battle, is because Toranaga won (or will win) without having to go to war.

I personally would have preferred a huge battle scene for the visuals, but the way it was done shows Toranaga's genius and conniving, that he will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

seems a 2nd and 3rd seasons are in order
