Let it just die

It feels like Disney is dick riding RDJ’s recent Academy Award.

If they wanted to reuse an actor for Doom, then Mads Mikkelsen would have been a better choice. What a shame.

I really hope RDJ isn't reprising his Stark role in any form with this and we never see Doom's face. I'm fine with RDJ playing Doom as a proper Victor Von Doom.

I don't think this is a case of reusing an actor for the sake of it. I think it's more a case of the Russo's vision for Doctor Doom being an evil Stark variant.

If true, that's hot garbage and lazy then. I'm sick of the multiverse and I am sick of "variants".

Galan rode Mads' dick first on KMC. You're late to the party, Rob.

But yeah, I agree, Mads as Victor would be pure win.

I'm pretty sure he somehow got that Mads' dick riding from me.

mmm

I wouldn't be surprised. Galan is like Chameleon sometimes.

Have you seen Another Round from 2020?

Saw it back in 2020, maybe 2021, Good film.

i don't think it's a good idea. RDJ is not a good choice for Doom and it's even more difficult to get over with his Iron Man image.

Also the previous 2 movie version handled Doom very poorly.

As a Stark variant at least this one wont be blowing up heads with his mind. And the threat will be from his genius.

But Doom should be handed better since he's a great villain.

Will be handled better than the last 3 movies is my point.

Anyway seems like RDJ and Russos are getting paid stupid money for these next two Avenger films. Not sure their price tag is worth it tbh.

Even with Russos, I feel like they should get fresh directors in.

RDJ will put butts in seats. I may not be the biggest fan of him as Doom, but having him return and play the villain will definitely play well the GA.

Anyway, I'm hoping he uses magic. Even if he is a Stark variant (and let's be real, he will be) he better use magic.

At this point, who's even in The Avengers to fight Doom?

A million characters no one gives a shît about at this point because almost all of their movies and tv shows have been utter dogshit.

How would you even tie in The Marvels, The Eternals, Shang Chi, Dr Strange and Charlize Theron's character, Thor and his new adopted daughter, GotG, She Hulk, Falcon and Bucky, Loki and all the other characters still to come. Or are most of them just getting abandoned now thanks to wife beater Majors?

Dunno. Think theyd prefer him back as TS/IM tbh. (Im guessing even as a TS variant he will be playing Doom very differently).

For what its worth im seeing memes going around absolutely ripping this news (and not from comic book nerds)

That happened a lot later in comics. He had no magic during Secret Wars.

That said wouldnt be difficult to add that in with the way the MCU has built up magic. And would make him a much greater threat in a direct fight. Could make him too much for the FF to deal with though.

Depends on which Secret Wars story that they're adapting or using for the film.

They said their fav comic book arc growing up as kids, so I'm guessing the classic one.

But with creative changes to the big screen, they're entitled to mix and match and adapt and what not.

It seems like Doom is being thrown in too soon. We haven’t even established Latveria in the MCU.

You're not wrong. The bigger issue was never the villain, but that the new heroes just aren't compelling and their stories are generally awful.

I don't know or really care if he didn't have magic back then. Doom has been a sorcerer for decades now. He's been a sorcerer for longer than I've been alive (since at least 1989 and potentially earlier). The fusion of magic and tech is a large part of what makes him a compelling character and really helps differentiate him from all the other super geniuses.

While I never read it, I've only heard poor things about the original. By contrast, I thought the new one was very good. Hopefully they take more inspiration from that.

Rumor is they're going to throw everyone into these next two Avengers films.
