Sinners (2025)

Upcoming Michael B. Jordan movie…:

Because why not, there will never be a new Blade movie.

Video unavailable, but I checked out the trailer on IMDB.

Looks potentially fun.

Isn't he doing the I Am Legend sequel, too, with Will Smith?

^^^Hadn't heard that I Am Legend thing before.
Interesting.

This comes out in a coupla weeks.

It's something I might try to go out to see if I get the chance.

I dig the southern gothic setting, but I don’t know if I can get myself to sit through another Ryan Coogler movie.

Honestly, I think I've only seen Black Panther 1. It was fine. Is he generally not good?

Fruitvale Station was excellent

Creed was great.

Video not working but its M B Jordan so I will see it

Hm, this is getting surprisingly good reviews.

^^^So i’ve heard. 👆

This was a good horror flick, do recommend the watch. Added bonus, the music is great in this.

So you saw, Rob?

What else.. anything you can compare it to? From Dusk til Dawn-ish? (I don't even know if it's vampires, and I don't necessarily want to know)

Saturday. As someone who is a fan of horror but finds 95+% of new horror to be trash, this was a nice welcome surprise.

It does have a Dusk Til Dawn vibe in the setup somewhat, but not much in regards to humor. Takes place in the 1930's American South, so it touches on the dread of being Black in that era in America.

What did it for me was the setting and the music, mixed in with good ole fashioned vampires. Jack O'Connell is a good villain for the same amount of screen time he's allotted.

More horror and supernatural elements to it than Dusk til Dawn.

Was decent, but I do feel the reviews overhyped it.

Cool. I'm looking forward to it.

This was good. A nice blend of genres and very well made.

I can't help but wish they had shown some of the bank/train robbing in there, too, though. Missed opportunity to throw in another genre or two. Maybe a sequel or prequel? But I really liked the music and performances and period setting.

I also liked that he didn't

Spoiler:
put the guitar down and decided to be a sinner musician.
🤘

I read somewhere Coogler was a Twilight Zone fan and took a little something from the ep. “The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank”.

Seemed like he was inspired a bit off of 'From Dusk Til Dawn'. Two brothers as the mains, people trapped in a building with a horde of vamps outside.

This was overall a superior film, even though it lacked the greatest scene in film history:

^^^Second greatest.
