Yeah I don't think he soloes either. It was actually quite a short run - 20 or so issues. They fought female Ultron, the Venombomb, and then there was some Secret Invasion stuff. So 2007-2008.
During this time it was Death of the New Gods and Countdown etc - so Superman was battling Darkseid I think.
Just so people have context as to what these time periods were.
Superman wins. Robert’s condition limited him during clutch moments. Superman is a vastly better fighter. Blue Marvel had that entire team beat, as we saw him trying to reason with them, which alludes to him not actually going all out against them.
That team is mighty, but Superman could literally deal with all of them before Sentry returns to Earth from orbit. Literal one shots on Simon, Carol, Ares, etc. sentry is the only one capable of matching his speed, but combat ability is everything, and Superman fights nearly on par with Batman in terms of skill.
