Magneto vs. The Maker vs. Invisible Woman (force-field contest)

They are all standing side by side in the middle of an indestructible battlefield, and have enough time to put their most powerful force-fields in place before the contest starts.

Sol's Anvil is then fired at them:
https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Sol%27s_Anvil
(Let's assume that its power supplies are unlimited, and the primary beam can be fired indefinitely.)

With their strongest personal shields in place, who can withstand a direct hit from Sol's Anvil for the longest amount of time?

And just to be clear, they cannot attack each other (or Sol's Anvil) in any way. This is all about who has the superior shielding.

i want to say mags>sue>maker, but i'm honestly not sure.

This thread is basically Philosophia vs. Galan vs. DarkSaint.

The forum explodes as the result, nobody wins.

if sue is in her "i must save the children!!" mindset (op did specify "strongest shields"😉 then she might actually outperform the others. sue becomes hilariously powerful when she shifts into mamma bear mode.

👆 a very good showing indeed, for Sue, showcasing how humble and self-deprecating she is. It is often said that that strong, capable women are their own worst enemy, and this shows it.

Anyway, when push comes to shove, Sue effectively saves Immortal Hulk from a bloodlusted Odinforce Allfather Thor (amongst others):

It must be noted that Black Panther, prior to this, was capable of effortlessly carving Hulk up. Captain Marvel, Nova, Vision, War Machine, Iron Man, all adding in to this. And she's casually blocking them, expanding the field even, with no hint of strain, against the repeated Mjolnir blows.

Plus Maker later seemingly lost that force field and tried to recruit Toni Ho because he was so impressed with hers

Poor Maker. Overexposure = downgrade for any of the big bads.

That actually brings up an interesting topic of conversation, Smurph. Are there any prominent/semi-prominent villains that have been "overexposed" without the commensurate downgrades/low showings that usually comes with the territory?

Well obvs the repeated Mjolnir strikes that Maker's shield soaked > Mjolnir strikes from OF Thor, then. Because when Sue personally saw Maker's shields in action, she immediately was like "Holy shit, those are stronger than mine! It's going to take direct intervention from God himself to stop this guy!!" /moistpanties

Nah, Maker was just impressed that the shielding Toni developed could withstand blasts from a planetary weapon(which is worthy of praise.) That's when he decided to 'recruit' her/A.I.M. to help him build a Solve Everything Machine.

But I agree about the overexposure thing. Cates, for example, obviously had no clue how to properly write/use Maker after Hickman, and the character suffered as a result. Ewing also made the same mistake when he first started writing Maker, because he was clearly trying to mirror Cates' characterization(*see your scan*) -- but thankfully he went a more Hickman-esque route with Maker in Ultimatesg007_squared.

Mind control does indeed do funny things to people 👆

,................

With Batdudes question, Doomsday was in danger of this but they thankfully stopped it.

Eh I might buy that if his shield shows up again but his dialogue at least implies that she's accomplished something that he might be hard pressed to easily replicate outside of his home reality. Which.... is bad writing but between that and Toni sending him running on the next page, it certainly didn't give the impression that an uber shield is his standard gear anymore.

I assume this thread is referring to that panel in Secret Wars though. Unless the shield has resurfaced?

In Secret Wars Sue's shields stood up to the Incursion for 4.999999 seconds 😛

You still haven't reposted the Merged Sentry + Annihilation Wave feat?

Don't you mean the Cancer verse???

Yes, my bad 👆

Reported for low balling👇

😂

You should thank me for giving you another reason to repost it 😉

Unless Darth Galan's wheezy breathing makes you afraid he might not survive it?

I don't want to be permabanned when he realises my arguments are too strong for him.

Darksaint is only posting feats against high heralds to let the rest have a chance.
