ah yeah, I do think Sue could block Proteus 馃憜

I'm less convinced that she could do what Magneto did to beat Proteus. But maybe she wouldn't have to.

Fwiw, it takes a lot for us to disagree, I think.

I don't think she on her own can do any more than contain him - I mean, she can try splitting him with bubbles but I don't think it would take etc.

Depends on how creative Proteus gets, I suppose. Theoretically, he could also possess the others as well, and turn them against Sue.

But even if Sue's shields could theoretically defend against Proteus's reality warping for a while, I don't think she can actually disperse him the way Magneto's energy manipulation did... so it becomes a war of attrition. In which case, Proteus can just warp their environment to a vacuum, and then wait until Sue tires out and runs out of air and water after a few days to a week, and then win.

I think it's more she contains Proteus in a bubble. He can't possess the others, then, or affect the environment. No matter how creative he gets.

And she can maintain a bubble for a long time. Iirc she contained Franklin when he was possessed by Nicholas Scratch for ages.

But would Sue's forcefield actually contain him?

We've seen Shadowcat phase through Sue's fields effortlessly... what's stopping a reality warper at the level of Proteus from just warping his own body to be able to phase through the forcefields just as easily?

I reckon Shadowcat wouldn't be able to do the same anymore - her power works by slipping her atoms between the atoms of materials. Sue can now do it at the subatomic level:

And Shadowcat isn't energy. Proteus is. IW can block energy.

Also, one major thing I completely missed: Proteus needs visual contact for his powers to work:

That's....a pretty major weakness against the Invisible Woman. Or is that gone now?

lol so we're now saying that to beat standard, average sue, you need to use powers GREATER than the big bang, and greater than the energy required to kill eternity....? THAT's the argument you're going with? sounds reasonable 馃憜

The scans are what they are but I don't think those propositions need to be accepted for this thread.

As a starting point, Magneto can block Proteus with effort, and I think Sue could do the same with somewhat less exertion involved.

And look at my original post - I said that strangely enough, the FF could win.

You also forgot the Cosmic Cube 馃槈
