It's pretty simple. I'm a huge fan of DBZ, and my favorite character is Son Goku. Goku is a goofy (but awesome) character that grins a lot, hence the name Grinning Goku.

Sadako of Girth Extreme Mode

A combination of two different names for a metal band I had back in '94 (The "Girth" bit, which originated from a stoned conversation with my friend and drummer about the tone of a Les Paul with a Marshall, describing it has as 'pure girth'😉 that name was abandoned with the lineup. - Good job as the name has been done by another band since.

And then '02 with a different line-up, after seeing 'Ringu' late one night, I was so impressed, that I named the band "Sadako" after the vengeful, crawling-out-the-TV-set-to-kill-you ghost within said atmospheric masterpiece...

So there ya go...
