that website is misleading... French and English are the most WIDELY SPOKEN, ie, in every single country, there'll be at least one person who speaks english and at least one who speaks french. all those other languages are the MOST SPOKEN languages, ie a very very large amount of peeps speak it, but they are all confinbed to just a few countries. (this is the first time ive been online since yesterday, which is why im quoting posts from pages ago!)
my mates really get on my nerves sometimes - they say thers no point learning a language cos everyone speaks english!! and they dont even bother to learn how to say 'do you speak english?' cos they say, if they do, they will understand!! well i say, all those things ARE true, but it is COMMON COURTESY to speak the language of the country your visiting! it is SO RUDE to expect them to speak english! and , if they dont, at least if you ask them in their own tongue, they can direct you to someone who can!
