A Fallen Jedi.....

if a jedi leaves the order or turns to the dark side, what if they want to come back? for example: lets say dooku ses the errors of his ways and crawls back to yoda, begging to rejoin the order. what would happen? I know what happens in the EU,but im curious for a movie explanation.

A Dark Sider cannot come back, I think. Anakin aside I think it is a permanent thing. Forever will it dominate your destiny, Yoda tells us, and I think Anakin's redemption was a one-off never to be repeated thing, that in any case came at the price of his life.

ush, i assume you are talking about his redemption in the return of the jedi.good point. but, what about when he slaughtered the tuskens? it never let us know if yoda found out. if yoda did know, i guess he took anakin back because he didnt go COMPLETELY to the dark side. the question is, what qualifies as going over to the dark side completely?

Well, Obi-Wan seemed to let his anger flow in TPM and Luke hovered at the edge a few times... I think it is probably the point at which you willingly accept the lure of the Dark Side and give into it voluntarily.

I think the Tusken Raiders episode puts Anakin on a slippery slope from which there is possibly no return- he slaughtered innocents in his anger. He's not evil yet because he regrets it but I don't think he will ever be the same again.

As for how much Yoda literally KNOWS of this... is unclear.

obi wan letting his anger flow against maul and anakin slaughtering a WHOLE TRIBE of tuskens, i dont know. obi wan, he probably didnt need to be dealt with by yoda. he killed one man. but anakin? he killed a whole tribe!! there had to be at least 50 to 60 tuskens there!! the book says over 100, but we are talking about the movie here.

Well, I was just making the point with Obi-Wan that you can 'flirt' with the Dark Side and not be irrevocably tainted forever, but there is a point at which you have gone too far and cannot return.

isn't one of the tenets of being a jedi that you are aware of and can control your actions? Anakin allowed his anger and rage, which are dark forces to overtake him. Wasn't Obi Wan attcked first before he killed, thus not making it as big of a problem as Anakin's?

any jedi can return to the light side and the order will take them back if they truly have escaped the grip of the dark side which isnt any easy task mind you. Anakin is one of the few who have actually been a dark lord of the sith and returned, Exar Kun another off the top of my head and he returned to the order.

Ush my info is correct EU is accurate info that aren't in the movies because they aren't the plot. It's like you saying that Tom Bombadil isn't in LotR because he wasn't in the movies... it's like saying just because the movies show Gimli's cousin already dead it was like that in the movies...your points are moot.

Well his padawan before the clone wars was Aayla Secura and now do you know who that is? Well she was a Jedi who went to Geonosis in ep2, now you tell me that EU isn't accurate that a character never before seen in the movies can have trained a padawan who shows up in the movies?
