I can see what you mean, but it's not really that degrading, it's eyecandy for the young audience, although it influences the idea that beauty and brawn together can't be stopped it's nothing to get all frazzled over...
In the X-movies, they make Ian McKellan wear a body suit to make him look more built...even he thought that was unnecessary...
