Something that I don't get very well is in X-Men: The End the Cukoos are called Spikes. Why do you think that is? Where did that come from?

I had made a post about the Spikes from X-Men: The End but I think it should go here.

It's nice that the writes have given them each their own personalities and looks but does anyone know why the Cuckoos got that name?
