Good question.
I honestly don’t know WHAT to expect. But what would ruin Revolutions would be, if something occurred along the lines of the two new Star Wars films. That instead of broadening the story-universe and make it even more complex and mysterious, they make everyone family, everyone knows everyone and they don’t introduce completely NEW things to the story.
M1 had a fairly happy ending, so I wonder why some people here want a tragedy?? Any explanations there? And why would Trinity ruin Revolutions?
Smith playing TOO big a part would ruin it. Just because he was a cool villain in M1, doesn’t mean he MUST play a big part. That mistake was made by Lucas with Boba Fett.
I do not want it to end in my-little-pony either, but lets face it. It is Hollywood, it will be screen-tested, and may have a fate like Blade Runner.
I want an open ending like M1, but I most certainly don’t want it to be THE M1 ending, like some people are preaching around here. That would be scared of change and twists.
