He's a corpse, now. He's not based on a Marvel character to my knowledge. It's a realistic look at mutant powers and how the government keeps a lid on unwanted media attention. Wolverine was tapped by SHIELD to get rid of the young mutant. Pretty grim stuff.
Did it actually show wolvie killing him or is his death just implied.
(if his death was not actually shown, then they might have given him something-medicine or technology-to control his power and he might come back later, as it would seem a waste to spend an entire episode of ultimate x-men focusing on a character who is never going to appear again)
I thought it was a waste, too, until I got the next issue and saw how it all fit in. The comics are very political these days.
They didn't show the death, and if it were the mainstream Marvel Universe, I would allow for Wolverine leaving him alive, but this is a colder Wolverine, and he had an important job to do. I doubt there was any miracle cure for the kid's condition.
