I had a similar problem when I changed to my wolfy avatar. I seem to think the problem is that the KMC server has the correct picture on it but your PC doesn't dont ask me why. This means you have to force it to update by going to the place where you change your avatar make sure it shows the right one, press f5 to make it refresh and it will hopefully then look right to you. I hope!
