well technicaly a hippo doesn't bite your hand, it crushs your entire arm.

and a fully grown male hippo can bite you in half

hippo's are very peaceful creatures, let them be, and don't ever stand between it and the water, cause then you'll have to run

or don't approach a young calf, cause then running won't help
