At What Point in TIme do they restart the Matrix???

I have 24 years of memory, if I were in the Matrix, are my past 24 years real??

Or are they all fabricated? Is everyone in the Matrix, living just 1 day?

Or does the MAtrix start over in 1900?

In M1 smith said the Peak of Human Civilization, was the perfect setting.

So is it 1999 from the Point they RESTART the Matrix, are do they have to work to get to 1999..then Start over?

That is a really great question... but at this point all we can do is speculate, and perhaps an answer will come up in revolutions. Actually have fact to prove that do start at some point other than just at 1999, at the very beginning of M1, the traced phone b/t trinity and cypher takes place in 1998, that's all i have really

i always assumed that at most it went backwards twenty years from today, probably shorter.

The “peak of human civilisation” that agent Smith refers to in M1 is most likely the 20th century. It is when the Industrial Revolution really started to show, we got technology and new science, the likes of which no one would have dreamt about 50 years earlier. Etc.

There is a reason to argue the Matrix runs from 1900 to 1999. And that is the time, which Morpheus tells has elapsed since the previous One. Namely 100 years. That previous One (the fifth Anomaly) reset the Matrix, like Neo was supposed to do, when he met the Architect, and that is 100 years ago. There has been no one else to reset the Matrix in the time between the fifth one and Neo.

So if the matrix restarts, and zion is eradicated, then where do all the peeps of zion get their technology ships mechs, computers, from?

also, are the mechs from Zion modified versions of the ones from Rennaisance

The Sentinels wipe out the humans. They may not destroy the entire city. Sure it needs some “rebuilding”, but it’s more or less intact.
