Actually, I read that she was tortured and became an Orc...maybe I'm wrong...

No she was attacked by orcs on a journey between Imladris (Rivendell) and Lórien and was hit by a poisoned arrow; Elrond could heal her, but after seeing life fading she didnt like the Dying Lands anymore and left in a ship for Valinor.
