his father was a demon and i think his 'real' mother died, so he lived with his step mom and step brother. i think that his step mom went crazy one day and was trying to kill him, but his step brother stepped in and killed the step mom (i.e. his real mother) and saved gojyo's life. also throughout the series u learn that halflings arent really excepted in the world 😬 . he kinda has a really sad past.

Biography: Raised by his step-mother, Gojyo had a troubled childhood that left him scarred. The mere sight of him would bring his mother to tears, since he was a reminder that his demonic father, her husband, had a child with some other human woman. Unable to take it any longer, Gojyo's mother moved to end her suffering and rid herself of Gojyo. If not for the intervention by Gojyo's half-brother, Dokugakuji, he would have died.
Being a half-demon, half-human, he has crimson hair and crimson eyes. This is also why he does not wear demon power limiters. He is a chronic womanizer and makes bed jokes every so often. He likes to drink and smoke. He also gambles, and though he is good at cheating at cards, he is actually a good card player as well. He is an anchor when it comes to swimming. He is the second most childish character of the four and can constantly be found picking on Goku, which always grows into a shouting match of insults much to the displeasure of Sanzo.
