HERE is a thread for the nintendo revolution

here you can discuss about the revolution what features you want on it, the look the games you want on it.

hopefully when the revoltion comes out this topic will be used to discuss about the revoltion.

also post pics and info/interviews if you can about the revoltion.

Jedi-Kaisa
I found a pic of the new Revolution. Sleek and simple. Nice thumb up Can't wait for this to come out.

it does look pretty ****in sweet...is that white part just a stand? or is it meant to be vertical?

HigH ScholaR

last? no, they have a so much of a "game maker" image that people won't just forget about nintendo soon. if they make mistakes in say, the next 6 or 7 years then they might have a problem. but i don't think nintendo will take any more chances to be out of the core running for head console.

lost prophet
I really havent been impressed by nintendo recently.

Red Superfly
The new Zelda and constant playing and replaying of Resident Evil 4 stop my GC from gatherring dust. I have all the usual updates like F-Zero and Smash Bros, but recently Nintendo have been lacking.

I hope the revolution delivers a solid drive forward, along with acknowledging it's credible past with this download feature. I want to see as many new games as rehashes, or I ain't buying.

I've played my Nintendo classics to death. The new games need to compete.

mr.smiley
They started going downhill with the end days of the 64.The GC seemed promising enough but their's only a few titles that have realy smashed through games Xbox or PS2 has put out.what's worse is within the next generation games nintendo won't even have their exclusive rights with the Resident Evil series. They'll still have Zelda but they realy need to make their next console as strong as their handhelds.I'm not sure how the DS is doing against the PSP,but if Nintendo could just do with their home consoles what they've done with their portables, they could come back strong.

Zen2nd
I think the controller is retarded.

Red Superfly
^ Irony.

Zen2nd
What irony? Or is that just a completely random comment from you that you like to spurt out?

it does look odd but perhaps that is because we've never seen a contrller like that because we are used to the past controllers. really this is just like the ds some dissed it as it was like a new thing but it caught on.

antway the possiblities.

Actual fishing
drawing
etc

games that i think will benefit are driving games, rpgs and first person shooters. games which i think will suffer are beat em ups.

and i'm sure you can turn off some of the featureslike the motion sensors.

wonder what peripherals will go in the expansion pack.

There is already a thread. No need for two. This one oughta be closed.

k........

knowing now the basic of nintendo's new console nintendo need

To come out with the right marketing scheme but a bit more mature i was thinking perhaps in the day they have a adverts for the ds but a bit light then at night they have a more darker advert for the revoltion for the adults.

launch with the right games a balance but diffferent for each region here is what i was thinking:

1080 game
Zelda game
SSBM
Mario kart
Beat em up
Footbal game
Driving game
Baiton kaitos.

try to work harder with relations towards other publishers they said they would do this with the gamecube after n64 but did'nt press on it. try and not let slip 3rd party games and get exclusive games.

Look at the games that will be developed for the revoltuion so it won't be spamed with unessary games.

cme out with a mixture of games both "mature" and "childish" (only calling them what the general people call them and they have to take note of that as each person is a potential buyer).

use the online feature not just get need for speed and have and online section but make games using the online feature like
Pokemon online

oh and by the way this a thread about the revolution, not only controller, the controller was the hot topic that is why it was discussed here before it got it's own thread.

Zen2nd
Sega actually made a controll just for fishing about 4 years ago but you don't see that flying off the shelves.

Wolf Dog
The video of it just totally got me exited. Nintendo is back bitches.

SaTsuJiN
I really like the idea for a drawing application..

kevdude
pretty kool idea, im sure a few ppl dont like the new control, but that happens all the time, when nintendo first came out with the D pad for the nes im sure a few ppl didnt like it but soon after ppl tried it out they loved it. look back at what everyone used to play with Ataris 2 button and joystick controller woooooooooo glad nintendo came around big grin.

HigH ScholaR
well now that we know what nintendo's new console is,

do you think nintendo will survive?
how shoild they do things differently that they did with the gamecube?

i've made my points already on page 1 but would like to hear yours

SaTsuJiN
do I think nintendo will survive : of course.. I'm pretty sure the age group they aim for far outnumbers the type of age group that thrives off of "Mature" games.. plus they just have such a nice vivid outlook on some of the wierder genres.. and I believe their controller will compliment that even more than the stylus complimented the DS

How should they do things differently that they did with the gamecube : Hmm... they should try to lessen the amount of hardware they release, and focus more on bolstering their gaming libarary.. cube had all that "link GBA to cube cable" and "Modem/broadband adapter" .. and the memory cards were just stupid.. you get like a (#) blocks memory card.. and you find out that 1 game doesnt take just 1 block.. they take like 10 blocks or 4.. or 6.. that whole aspect annoyed me very much

so u nintendo fans finnally admitted that nintendo sucked...refering to gamecube....after its totally disappointing show on the cube, u think its going to steal the next generation console wars???wrong. nintendo is not competing (in terms of hardware atleast)

Wolf Dog
"nintendo is not competing (in terms of hardware atleast)"

What a dumb thing to say. Nintendo hasn't released any specs for it so how would you know. I remember GC was also being pre-eliminated from the hardware war last generation and look at RE4 now.

BackFire
For Revolution to be successful it's absolutely essential that they get decent third party games for the system. Their last two systems have almost entirely been made noteworthy simply because of first party titles (especially the gamecube, which had like 1 extremely good third party title). If they don't do this the system won't be able to compete, they won't be able to rely on Zelda, Mario and Metroid forever.

well for one thing, in Gamepro's June 2005(#201) on page 60, it shows E3 Hit List, Xbox 360 PS3 and Revolution with a note that says " nitnendo has said it will not compete with PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of hardware, so you can expect mid level graphical performance and a significantly lower price point."

and please, stop mentioning resident evil 4

The specs aren't out. That is all i'm saying about that. And i was just mentioning RE4 to point out how GC can handle good graphics. I could have easily mentioned some other game.

Movie_Geek_
RE4 is the best in terms of graphics for GC games unfortunately. I have always liked the PS and X-box graphics better. The thing people forget is that the kind of games Nintendo puts out are not meant to be graphic games.

Silverstein
yes the gamecube CAN handle great graphics(RE4). But are they interactable?

Movie_Geek_
Interactable, what do you mean?

Silverstein

interactable like...can u touch cans on a shelf...knock stuff over...stuff like that, or is it all just for show like in the resident evil cube zero

Movie_Geek_
I get what you mean...I do not know.

How much do we know about the Revolution? For all we know the design may play a key role in gaming

Movie_Geek_
Good point. We know what it is supposed to do but not how.

That's nothing to do with the console, it's because RE used pre-rendered backgrounds. This also started on the PS1.

Movie_Geek_
It is like that on most of the RE games I think.

RedAlertv2
Props to Nintendo to having the balls to try something so unique

Jaro
Unlike Playstation that hasn't changed their controller design yet

Movie_Geek_
I think the PS3 is supposed to be the same too. But I do knew for sure.

All but RE4, and Code: Veronica.

Movie_Geek_
And RE4 was for nintendo. Veronica and outbreak are the only RE games I have not played.

Victor Von Doom
Code: Veronica is really good.

Outbreak is risibly bad.

Movie_Geek_
So I keep hearing. Of the ones I have played RE4 is my favorite.

mr.smiley
The controller sounds cool enough, but I don't think it will be widely excepted.I belive it will probably get noticed more as some weird novelty rather than some gaming breakthrough in years to come.

RedAlertv2
I hope not, but you may be right
