The provided file contains details on former Captain Jericho of the Bounty

All Captains are advised that Jericho no longer has his rank or position and is considered a security threat to Zion.

Any sightings of Jericho must be reported to Zion as soon as can be managed. All missions other than priority assignments can be suspended in orde rto move your ships to a safe place to transmit your news to Zion.

Do not attempt to approach or apprehend Captain Jericho.

Message ends.

------

To: Captain Dallas, Scheherazade

The above message is going out to all Captains in the fleet. No more information is being given to them at this time.

As you know, Bounty was destroyed with all hands several months ago. The construct currently inside the Matrix is NOT Captain Jericho. Yet he has all of Jericho's abilities, and apparently all of his memories. These memories include the security codes to Zion's mainframe.

Not only is the existance of a computer programme with our security protocols unacceptable, your previous experiences have demonstrated that 'Jericho' has no interest in the future of Zion. He is therefore considered a priority threat. The System is known to be searching for Jericho. Security protcols are being changed, but with the memories of the former head of Zion's Strategic Planning Council, if 'Jericho' is taken by the System or decides to divulge the information he has, the consequences will be devastating.

Your orders are clear. Jericho must be eliminated.

Your experiences with Jericho have revealed the existance of programming anomalies inside the Matrix system- programmes that appear to have no loyalty to the System. If Jericho is to be found, the nature of these anomalies must be investigated.

We expect to have specific mission details for you very shortly. Captain Marduk of the Persepolis will also be assigned to aid in this mission.

Crew selection will be down to the discretion of yourself and Marduk. Recruitment, followed by training, should commence as soon as possible. It is highly recommended that you slect crew members who have an aptitude for accepting and understanding new ideas, as well as combat capacity. Those with you on your previous mission who are still available will be given priority assignment to your ships.

Your service to Zion is appreciated, Captain

Yeah yeah. I'll do that.

...

Just to confirm... Morpheus knows nothing about all this, yeah? Seriously, it;s made my year if that is true...

-----
-----

Hmm... upgrades...

Coming later this year, the continuation of my Matrix game.

Along with, of course, a new storyline, there is a new system- more streamlined, more direct, more efficient, and with luck, more accessible.

Nonetheless, this is a game that has its roots in being a detailed combat game, as befitting the source material. Successful players will need to get to grip with the combat system...

... or alternatively engage in the Philisophical nature of the Matrix series. Carrying on previous tradition, the game will split- although with overlap- into two distinct Paths, Combat and Philosophy.

One way or another, it is a game that will require a certain amount of decent committment and attention.

More details when I have them. This game is intended to bridge an upcoming gap in Star Wars plots. There is much to be tested, but as before, an intense training programme will lead the way.

Feel free to ask questions- but I really have little to give...

Lana
...

Yay!

Captain REX
shock

This just made my day. Ares strikes again!

Trickster
Woo!

Tptmanno1
Do I get to shoot stuff and blow shit up?

Ushgarak
No. The Matrix is a storyline of cultured debate and progressive thought. Nothing ever gets blown up or shot in it.

Trickster
Shotgun pancakes.

Lana
Teehee....I remember when we invented that term....that and coppertop swiss cheese.

Last night I was looking through the Matrix RP stuff and main thought three things. 1) We were really good at screwing up (but then we still are), 2) this was a long damn time ago, and 3) we used to get through the RP REALLY fast.

DarkDethbringer
wow! I wnated in the old one but was too late any chance I could join in on this one?

Aww damn...
Then what am I going to do with this H&K 12 gague?

Ushgarak
Talk to it about what it means to BE an H&K 12 gauge.

Lana
...or stick with the Combat path tradition of causing as much destruction as is possible...

...

Yeah, I'm remembering blowing up that building, hehe.

Ushgarak
"What the hell is all thar bullshit, boy?"

(if Dallas ever met Melitus)

Captain REX
I really do think we should have our Matrix characters spar with our Star Wars characters. eek!

Bespin Bart
Now THAT would be interesting...

Ah, I get to play Mors again. Happy day! big grin

DarkDethbringer
so people who didnt play in teh old gam ecan join in right? I hope so I cant wait to introduce my character into teh mix

Captain REX
I'm guessing so. I highly doubt everyone from the old crew will be around to play.

Tptmanno1
Yea, haven't seen Spike in a long while...

Aliies
Matrix as a detailed RPG, there is no way I'm going to miss this!

And Lana... Coppertop swiss cheese and shotgun pancakes?

MMMM... SPAS 12 Piklets... MMMM

If I do get in this RP then the G36C is all mine, H&K weapons are unbeatable especially the MP7 and the P90!

This is correct, we fight only for the moral debate on whether or not we should finally learn to use weapons, explosives and generally causing the deaths of countless innocent people, so let us all join hands and debate whether or not the Matrix will be a site for such a rude and crude method of communication!

This message was brought to you live from downtown matrix mainframe in hopes that you will lay down your arms and discuss this with your nearest sentinel...

KMC Dark Lord
Ill sign up for this...

And I see Spike on MSN quite often, so I'll poke him next time I see him. Which might be tonight if I decide to not go to bed.

Wheeee, it'll be fun to bring back San...I really did rather like using the knife path happy it was fun.

DarkDethbringer
we fun fun, Joker will be sure to be around then big grin

Well then, Ush could we design our character's names, codenames and appearances or are there guidelines to wait for...?

Do I get to play with twin swords this time evil face

Ushgarak
Ok, in response to those wishing for more information...

For those of you from before, the character classes are the same.

For those of you that are new, the theory of how The Matrix works, character wise, is different from Star Wars. There, we have a character teamplte for every concept, and there are lots of concepts. In The Matrix, we have just three. However, each of those concepts is designed to be very flexible and wide-ranging.

The flexibility used to be provided by the Download system, via which each character had as certain amount of download space available in which to set their powers and improve their stats and skills whilst in the Matrix. Interesting as it was- and I know some people very much enjoyed the micro-detailed level of tinkering with characters it provided- it ultimately proved not appropriate- certainly abusable.

Which leaves us like this:

---

The three templates are:

HACKER: A solider of Zion. The Hacker is the basic template, a highly trained, highly talented rebel operative. Like the Adventurer in Star Wars, the Hacker is no half-breed jack-of-all-trades, but a very powerful and competent template. The best film match is Trinity.

VETERAN: The Veteran is a long-serving warrior in the endless war against the Machines- fighting for at least ten years, making you an old man in Matrix terms, even if you only just turned 30. The Veteran is not unlike a Jedi Master in Star Wars, in that he is less fit but more skilled. Obviously this is a bit fuzzier in The Matrix where your fitness is virtual, not real, but nonetheless it takes more effort for a Veteran to be fit in the Matrix than it does for a Hacker. The best film match is Morpheus.

NATURAL: The Natural is a brand new recruit in the war against the Machines- but one who is incredibly talented in engaging with the Matrix. The Natural's 'powers' within the Matrix, and abaility to defy reality within it, are far greater than the Hacker or the Veteran's. However, the Natural is young, not fully fit and not fully trained. He must use his superior abilities within the Matrix to good effect. The Natural is, of course, based on Neo, but on a smaller scale- you aren't a God in this game.

---

Within your template, you also choose one of three 'Roles'. Roles are part of your download set-up, so they can be changed between games as the team requires. The roles are Fighter (Close Combat specialist), Gunner and All-Rounder. The precise details of what they give you deoend on your template- a Veteran Gunner gets a different loadout from a Natural Gunner.

For those of you new to the game, the general vibe is that guns are useful for dispatching mundanes/Coppertop (i.e. the general population of the Matrix), when it comes to a tough opponent, you need your martial arts to do the job; this fits the vibe of the films, even if it does not make literal sense (there has to be SOME reason for all the Kung Fu in a world with guns in and where not everyone has Neo's powers).

Gunners, therefore, are normally there to clear the field of mooks whilst the martial artists match their skills against the big targets.

---

Whilst you are there... other than your cool Matrix-style name, one other thing is needed from each Matrix character. Backgrounds are very similar in The Matrix- you were all born in the Matrix, been freed, and now fight for Zion; it is somewhat within the nature of the game that your previous experiences have all been similar- enter Matrix, do missions, run from Agents.

But there is one thing that distinguishes you all, and it is a question all will be asked- Combat and Philosophy path alike.

What did the Oracle say to you when you first met?

To clarify- though you can create whatever background around it that you like- I need the Oracle's prediction for you summed up in a short sentence. The examples from the film are very simple:

Morpheus: You will find the One

Trinity: You will fall in love with someone, and that person will be the One

Neo:

... No, not that he was not The One. That wasn't a prediction, merely a statement of fact. Her prediction to him was that he must choose between his own life and Morpheus'.

In Reloaded, he gets a new one- that he must choose between Trinity and Zion. To be more precise, though, she tells him that he has already chosen, so what is to come is him understanding why.

The process of creating your prediction, based on last time, can be tricky, and subject to vetting, so do think about it. The ultimate meaning will be up to me, so try not to have a definite meaning in mind when you post it. That is the tightrope- it helps to be mysterious, but it cannot be so vague as to be meanginless.

Try not to be too melodramatic either- there was a habit last time of people edging for "You will die alone and unloved with people spitting on your grave and saying how nice it is that that bastard has gone" etc.

So, see what you can do.

As for twin swords- we'll see...

Hmmm....I'm trying to think of how many times I played "try and distract the Agent" in the game, because it was quite a few laughing out loud

And you're forgetting fighting an Agent on top of a moving bus and blowing up a building to escape them.

Ushgarak
Heh, well, I meant the backgrounds of characters BEFORE they start playing. Obviously things go to shit once in game, else it is very boring...

For those new to the game- it is an absolute priority that Agents maintain their menace throughout.

Aye, and the Cloud w/o sword -v- 3 agents while everyone else flees back to the ship. I was worried that when I got back from College I'd find myself dead.

Awww, no download system.

That was after the oh-so-wise idea of trying to stick your sword in the chute to try and stop the Agent, right? laughing out loud and you and I were (for the second time) the only ones still able to fight...

And you might have been thrown out a window, but as I remember you went out the window into the window box. I was thrown out of the damn box altogether!

Now what I'm wondering...are we going to be any better when it comes to planning and not screwing up than we were two years ago? stick out tongue

Trickster
I don't even remember what I did through most of that. I'm gunna have to go back and read. I do know I came late to the game, though, and had no understanding of the rules of combat!

DarkDethbringer
this soudns awesome!

Trickster
Go read the threads, Dark. They're somewhere about.

KMC Dark Lord
Indeed. So um..You just did a lot of explaining Ush, which I'm glad for. It answered allot of questions. But I have one more.

Can I be an agent, if I choose to be? I could understand how that wouldn't really work, because agents are mostly emotionless and blady blah, but I was just asking.

DarkDethbringer
no, just like how you cannot play clones and Darth Vader, an i read the threads a long time ago, i was pumpe thhen and even more so now, i plan on playing a natural, i hope that works out, i plan on being the all rounder but if that doesnt work i am fine with all out fighter

Lana
Nope, can't play an Agent.

What I'm wondering about is how much customization we have within the 'roles'....like, would I be able to keep San the way she was at the end, where I had her as an all-rounder yet she was a bit better at MA than Guns?

Captain REX
Hah, indeed you do...

So, roster for the Shez and the Percy are looking good.

San, Burn, Cloud, Ares, Mors, Hephaestus, Azrael, and then three new recruits.

Now, I just have to find my old character load-out sheets for the California crew...

Ok, some more info/clarifications-

Re: Oracle predictions. I will probably be asking the vets to look at theirs as well. Rather than field queries right now. I'll set up a whole new thread with it later, and we can tackle the whole area from scratch.

Re: setting. It is set between the first and second films. Basically, the One has been found (albeit with much scepticism abouit the Prophecy still around), but none of the challeneges to the entire setting found in Reloaded have yet appeared.

This is not actually a large time period to work in, so if the 'franchise' continues we may have to look post-Revolutions (though quite likely there would be a campaign set during the second/third film storylines first). If that happened, we would have to look at the MxO storyline, and decide to swing with it, or junk it and take an alternative view of the post Revolutions concept. Most likely is that it won't be denied but a story will try and exist that can ignore it as much as possible.

re: the wait. Heck, this hasn't even been playtetsed yet, folks. I remember flagging up the original Matrix game long before it started. I hope to get it started this year, but don't hold your breath for this summer. Training will commence in advance of the game plot.

Right now, a story exists, and a game system exists, and they are both ready to be tested, events that made me feel justified in posting this thread. But if you like my games and think they are of a certain quality, that quality comes at the expense of time taken to get things right. Training can help with the latter parts of playtesting, so that can make things come sooner than they otherwise might have done.

re: downloading. There IS a download system, based on the Role you take, and it is customisable. So trick, it's not completely gone, it is just nit as in-depth as it was. Lana- yes, you can still mess around with your combat ratings, however, that will be very difficult for an all-rounder. The system now is that download points spent on skills start building them from scratch and only apply if they become higher than skills already present. So, a Gunner who has no Martial Arts skill at all could easily spend a few points on getting a little MA. But an all-rounder would have to spend enough download points to create a new MA or Guns skill than the one s/he already gets for being an all-rounder before it had any point, because the two would not combine- you chooe one or the other. That is one of the principles of the new download system- customisation does not add on, it replaces.

re: Game system. Like my Prince of Persia system, the game runs without any pool or similar resource.

The tactical part of the game works like this- you can have lots of stuff downloaed into your head, but only a certain amount of your fu powers are in the 'hot' part of your download grid (called the 'cache') at any one time. These powers give continual, permnanent bonuses to the way you fight or shoot, they do not need to be nominated for use.

However, when times are desperate, many of these powers can be 'tapped'. Tapping a power means it gives you a super-boost for the next turn (e.g when that Agent catches you)- but afterwards it will become inactive and not even give its basic bonus any more.

(Normally, 'tapping' a power involves the dramatic use of an impossible move that will invite a bullet time shot)

You can swap around powers between your cache and your spare each turn, but that doesn't re-activate powers you burned up by tapping, so eventually you will run out.

Every so often (the process is a bit random, so some gambling is involved) a 'Refresh' turn will come around, in which you can re-activate powers you tapped for use again. The amount you can refresh depends on your role and your template. Naturals, for example are very good at refreshing, so they are far more likely to tap powers for maximum effect, knowing that they can get them back faster than other players.

Good management of your downloaded resources is the key to success, and will be a requirement for victory on the Combat Path.

re: Plot. For those of you who don't know much about my games...

When setting a game in a franchise like this (be it Star Wars or Matrix), it becomes neither an excuse to just journey in the setting, nor is it an attempt to interact directly with the main plot. 'Enter the Matrix', for example, was the main plot of Reloaded seen from a different view.

That is not how my games work. Such plotline are acknowledged- Morpheus and Neo certaimly exist- but the game has its own independant plot and independant villains within the same setting. It also has its own questions- not too deep, but enough to cause thought- about the nature of reality, in the context of of how the setting of The Matrix causes people to ask such questions. These things are sometimes difficult to achieve and is one of the reasons development has been slow.

And as ever with the Matrix, it is as much about mystery as answers. I am pretty sure most people still have no diea about what happened with the whole Melitus thing last time. Hmm... about time I really went through that with people, actually.

Captain REX
I saw 'Training' mentioned. I think we should replay the old Combat Training we got when the Matrix RPG was introduced last time, when character sheets are available and people have figured it out.

This'll take some getting used to, not having pool and swapping powers around.

Fire
Might be coming back to this, if Ush will have me

Aliies
I'm sure he will

Damn those back shooters...

Well, I thought I might try a different training scenario.

I bought the plane ticket back when Ush revealed Doon to us. He just THINKS I'm in California...

yea the game had some kick ass powers, think I'm gonna take combat instead of philo this time tho smile

Bespin Bart
Jade Emperor is all mine!

Fire
wasn't that the swordstyle?

DarkDethbringer
I wanna take Philosophy

Bespin Bart
Sure was, Fire. yes Though, Ush was introducing Silver Prince this game, wasn't he?

What can we expect from the Paths, Ush? Are any not returning? Any new ones? Is the Path with Lightning Fist on it finished?

Warning, Dark, you need to keep up with Philo. It's very fun, but it makes you think and you need to be around to think.

Fire
hehe.

Silver Prince??? wtf was/is that

Lana
Another sword path.

So long as I can still kick and stab stuff, I'll be happy.

It was supposed to be the a more athletic sword path, or something...

And Preying Mantis, too. Two swords, wooo.

Heph might take up the staff again. I dumped it early on, even though it was useful...

Fire
k, guess we'll see in a few weeks

Ushgarak
I don't have a finalised list of the powers yet, but Silver Prince is in the examples section of the first version of the new rules, so it looks likely it is in.

Silver Prince was the athletic sword path a la Prince of Persia, as opposed to Jade Emperor's samurai/pure swordplay style.

It was ther first example of the concepot of 'opposed' paths (it wastes space to have Paths opposed to each other downloaded) and opposed rules are certainly in the new system.

Bear in mind that the Paths are wayyyyyyyyyyyy more cut down than they used to be. We are probably talking one power per path.

Lana
One power? How's that going to work?

I was going to say "damn, what about my 0 frame knife attack?" but then remembered, duh, no frames!

Fire
I'm very curious about this new system, no pools or frames and one power paths weird

Captain REX
One power paths? What?

And Ares will be strictly gunner too, Burn. yes

Trickster
As in, we upgrade that one power?

I'm confused.

Ushgarak
Ah well. As I was saying earlier, it is a very much simplified system from before.

More details when I have them.

Fire
*crosses fingers for that to be soon*

Aliies
I'd prefer my character to be a sword fighter with a little light gunslinging thrown in... If that's a possibility...

Fire
that used to be possible, cause that was my original idea.

Later on I ditched the gunslinging

Aliies
This was a picture for one of my stories that I was kicking around, just a quick and rough sketch but then turned into a matrix-style so I threw my intended character name on it... It's done in the Anthro style so ignore the fact that he's a dog big grin
Oh, and that the G36K is a little bigger than the real thing...

Trickster
Nice. Azrael was a knife-and-Ingrams man. Hope I don't have to change that too much.

Aliies
I could try and draw other peoples characters though I can't promise anything amazing... Just doing alot of anime/anthropomorphic characters I just want to do something different...

Umm...? Ingrams? do tell ^.^

Captain REX
Ingrams MAC 10, Aliies. wink

Yes, Aliies, it is possible to sword-fight and gun-sling. You used to be able to do it at the same time, even, if you had Both Guns Blazing maxed out. eek! No one did though, except the NPC Jericho...

DarkDethbringer
I want to be an all rounder, but Loki specialises in Martial arts and mostly on Gun play

Captain REX
That makes no sense. You can only specialize in one thing, unless you're an All-around fighter. But that's not specializing, that's just being able to fight hand-to-hand and from a distance.

DarkDethbringer
I said I wnated to be an all rounder

Captain REX
But then you said you specialize in two things. stick out tongue

Tptmanno1

*slaps forehead* Of course... thanks Rex smile

Nah, personally I'm more of an MP7-PDW fan... has a cyclic rate of 950rpm on full auto and is about the same size as the MAC 10, Another H&K favorite of mine but you can never overlook the G36 range! Though I could just setle for a nice P90 SMG... yet another H&K I believe...

Captain REX
I still want to toy around with Mouse's custom guns, that hacking bastard. Or better yet, something with a drum clip. eek!

I think Ares only got wiped out twice.

Aliies
If you like rifles then I suggest a G36M with a 100 round clip... Basically a rifle on full auto that is classed as a light machine gun... not to mention a decent range to!

Despite all of that... It just looks nice smile Which is always important! Like the swagger of an AK101...

Just so people know, gun choices are broadly a matter of style, else some get disadvantaged. Guns get split into categories, rather than individual makes.

would kinda weird, if we would have to check all the specs of every gun (then it would be almost like Shadow Run)

Tptmanno1
Yea, Burn Liked the shotgun, wasn't always practical for the crazy mook destruction, but was always fun.

Captain REX
Ares wants a drum clip anyways. stick out tongue

Feh, Mac 10 or 11 will do just fine. yes

Aliies
Ush, there's only one gun that I want for my character then... the MP7... Nothing else fancy... would that be okay, I can get the specs too and It classes as a machine pistol officially:

KMC Dark Lord
I think im going to be a martial artists primarily.

The MP7 would be covered in Machine pistols, like the Glock 18 and MAC 11.

Aliies
yes, but an MP7 can pump out 950 rounds per minute... safely... but not for those on the receiving end...

Fire
that could be, but that won't make an ingame difference I think

Ushgarak
Nope. In fact, we are not even going to have bullet counts, which were irritating.

Instead, weapon categories now simply have a capacity number. You can fire the gun that many times before it runs out of ammo. The amount of bullets fired in each of those attackd is up to the firer as a point of style, but regardless, x attacks made with that weapon will empty it.

Aliies
oh, =3... can we take modified clips, like morpheus had in his GLOCK when it was on full auto?

Trickster
What's that smiley meant to show?

Ushgarak
Yes you can; it increases the bulk of the weapon.

Tptmanno1
Nice, alright, I'm excited.

Sweet, but what about Rex's request, drum clips aren't modified and can hold around three or four times the normal amount of ammo, though it's just stupid to try and use them in a pistol, it's a rifle and smg thing...

Ushgarak
If it has a higher capacity it will pay for it somewhere else. There is no such thing as a weapon choice that is simply better than another, else no-one would take anything else.

Aliies
true, drum clips are a little heavier but depending on the weapon make it could balance the weapon's recoil, the hold-down accuracy and are less-likely to jam compared to normal clips due to a belt-fed style...

Ushgarak
I meant game-wise. Nvm the logic of it.

Aliies
fair enough... o.O stick out tongue
I'd just slap a weight capacity on characters like in DnD that affects your martial arts or whatever due to being too bulky or overweighted...
THat's basically all the difference ingame, right?

Bespin Bart
Bulk just means it's harder to hide, Aliies, and you can't carry as many things. Or was that weight? I forget.

We have something like that, though, Aliies. It doesn't affect your skill, you just can't carry more than the capacity, which depends on one of your stats.

Bulk is how much you can conceal, weight is how much you can carry (which is dependent on strength).

So long as I can still have my old guns and my knife I'll be good stick out tongue

Something you have to remember when making a game out of a franchise like the Matrix is that both capturing the mood of the film and getting the style right are both much more important than any sort of real-life logic.

For example, the system is designed so that guns don't take up more room than spare clips. Why? To give SOME context as to why anyone would do what Neo did in the assault at the end of the first film, carrying all those guns instead of just carrying lots of spare clips. For sure, if clips were smaller, everyone would just always do that in an RP.

RPs are like that. People will seek to exploit rules, and take what is best, instead of doing the important thing and going for what looks/feels right. Some will not, playing into the style of the thing, but it is important that the rules at least point people in the right direction.

Hence so it is with guns. Completely ignore the real life stats of the gun. This is a game and the game must be balanced. There must always be a reason for people to take different types of gun. If type X is better, why wouldn't everyone take type x? Then we have everyone with the same gun and at a stroke we've lost part of the experience.

It is the same if someone claims one fighting style should have superiority, based on real life fighting. Eventually we would end up with everyone fighting the same way and with the same guns, and then why are we playing, exactly? Aside from anything else, individuality is very important in The Matrix.

Weight/bulk have been combined into one stat called 'Size' now, which will handle everything.

KingDubya
I'm definitely joining this when it 's ready (I'll try to be there more often than I am with the Star Wars RP).

Lord Melkor
How similar will this combat system be to your Prince of Persia rules?

Ushgarak
PoP and Matrix were developed entirely independantly, the first by me, the second by my brother, though both looking at the same objectives- combining detailed tactical combat with a system that does not require excessive bookkeeping (though in PoP, the vibe is that you don't have to do that if you don't want to; advanced character options allow more complex characters for the number hungry).

So there are some similarities based on us two simlly having similar mindsets- no pool, no frames, cut down on stats, removal of unnecessary numbers etc. Meanwhile, as an example, my Magic system in PoP (certain amount of stuff active at one time, some things uncast themselves when used) is partly based upon the work I saw for the download system mentioned above. (It is also when I saw that system when I decided it was time to remove pool from PoP as well.)

But on the whole there are more differences than similarities. Matrix is running entirely on d6s, as an example. It is also using a more traditional damage track. Of the two, I think this Matrix one has done a lot more to make an in-depth fighting system accessible; my PoP one seems to have failed a little in that regard, though I still think it was much simpler than, for example, the first Matrix game here.

Playtesting will be the judge, and I am sure we will both compare results with each other.

Aliies
All of this is really making me want to redesign my character TAO...
Now I'm not so sure what type of weaponry to give him...
So now we see the point that particular makes don't hold sway... how about classes, like say entry-shotguns, light machineguns or suppressive weaponry, I'm starting to think that neo's Idea for an assault with no spare clips is the way to go in certain instances as he never had to reload... saving valuable combat-time...

When we choose weapons, can we alter our kit each time we jack in or switch weapons with downed enemies? it's just that being restricted doesn't allow you to be diverse in your attack-methods which I belive is the key to a Matrix soldier.
I think my character will be an all-rounder in light of this, just so he can be diversive and unpredictable!

How does that sound Ush?

Ushgarak
You can alter it every time you jack in, yes. Downed soldiers tend to have very ammo depleted weapons.

Makes sense, and same with the fact of enemies weapons... though what if you kill them before they return fire? or aren't we going to worry about that...

Fire
Dude, you worry about weird things.

I don't think anyone has ever been out of ammo in the last campaign. and if you're out of ammo you just melee the suckers till they die.

big grin I just like to be realstic and ultimately, prepared
((Like that girl I asked out today... she had a boyfriend and I was prepared for that possibility; though I still got her number smile ))

Though unlimited ammunition does sound quite irristable... sign me up!

Fire
didn't say there was unlimited ammo, I said we always had more than we needed. I don't think that stealing gear of cops or soldiers fits the matrix vibe (except for a few shots)

Aliies
I know... I just like the idea of more ammo than I need... It never happens when I play games Like BF2!

Fire
there's a difference here + this doesn't mean you don't have to watch your ammo

Aliies
I know... Like I said, be prepared....! stick out tongue

Lana
Fire, we ran out of ammo all the damn time, and swiped weapons from fallen bad guys constantly stick out tongue

SpikeSpiegel
I never ran out of ammo stick out tongue

Tptmanno1
Yea, Uhh fire, Thats the ONLY reason I had gathering of the Clouds, So I could swipe ammo and run at the same time....
It was IMPOSSIBLE to carry enough ammo as I needed.

Fire
Weird that I have no memory of that tho

I should rephrase: I never ran out of ammo

Tptmanno1
You also had a sword that you used 90 % of the time...
