Marvel is apparently considering reuniting the original Avengers for a new movie.

According to Variety, sources have claimed that there have been talks to reunite the original six MCU superheroes, though the studio has yet to commit to pursuing the homecoming.

If it happened, a reunion would see the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, the two Avengers who met their shocking end in Avengers: Endgame, as well as Chris Evans as Captain America.

Many would undoubtedly be delighted to see the trio's return, teaming up once again with Thor, Hulk and Hawkeye, though they will have to wait and see if getting the old gang back together is on the cards.

Since Endgame, Chris Hemsworth has starred in Thor: Love and Thunder, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye has featured in his own Disney+ series, and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk has made appearances in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Meanwhile, Sam Wilson has taken over the mantle of Captain America.

In other Marvel news, MCU fans have gone wild on social media speculating that the X-Men will be making a surprise appearance in the upcoming blockbuster The Marvels, based on a new 15-second teaser trailer for the film.

The Marvels will see the return of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, who discovered her mutant powers in Disney+ series Ms Marvel.

The Marvel's is apparently a huge pile of shit and the MCU is in trouble.

Hopefully they fix things.

Patient_Leech
I wouldn't be surprised. They're desperate for something that people will like. And now that James Gunn is gone I don't see myself having didley-shit worth of interest in anything else they do.

Nemesis X
Or they can sell the IP once great now in a state like the mood of one's child they gave up custody to their chain smoking, alcoholic aunt/uncle. The comics don't sell like they used to and MCU is just DCU (Disney Channel Universe) the way this crap gets written anymore and some are starting to know better than seeing what's becoming the same movie under the mouse house over & over.

rudester
Because Marvel has introduced a multiverse there has been talks that DC characters like X-men will make an appearance. If you can recall, Professor X made a cameo in Dr Strange movie. This will mean that the world of superheros will include mutants.

tkitna
Whatever they do it will be better than DC.

That much is obvious, yes.

Not likely given that Gunn is now creative head of DC.

DC wishes they could own the X-men.

Well they would need a new angle and a new villain. Theres a few movies in Marvel, that they never fully pursued

Gunn can't help.

He's not that kind of a dude who would want to spend his life trying to supervise and organize the mess that is DC.

He will get bored, leave and get back to his own work soon.

laughing out loud

X-Men have always been Marvel, Rude.

You're probably thinking of the time when Fox had the movie rights to X-Men -- that didn't make them Fox characters either, they just had the film rights, much like Universal and Hulk or Sony and Spider-Man...

Disney bought Fox as a whole, so it doesn't matter anymore.

rudester
Well Disney has some rights over X-men, but I guess it's a partnership with Marvel studios

Khazra Reborn
Unless they shake up the staff behind the scenes, it won't matter what characters they use, it will still be shit. Marvel's biggest problem is their horrendous writing.

Not "some". All rights.

Both Fox and Marvel are owned by Disney.

The Marvel's is predicted to bomb worse than Flash. At least Flash was decent. The Marvel's looks like straight trash.

South Park should have targeted Marvel too in the Panderverse. Their blatant pandering has been evident since that cringeworthy girl power scene in Endgame.

Old Man Whirly!
Marvel has so many great plots, the MCU post GoG 1 thought that joke approach was the only answer, the boys and invincible show Superheroes aren't dead. It's time the real comic stories from all companies, it they do this as one off's they will survive
No one wants to be tied into a universe with 80% of the relevant shit to each good film coming from substandard TV and movies. Gunn will destroy DC too, his take on superheroes is done.

Interestingly enough, that scene you're mentioning ironically makes the women heroes look weak. Particularly Captain Marvel who is supposed to be the poster child, the center stage, the ticket seller, the Superman 2.5. Yet despite her being so strong that she can one shot Thanos' flagship, she couldn't breeze through his army of fodder and needed help from a bunch of others to even reach the time portal. Either it was in her sadistic nature to purposely prolong going back in time by playing hot potato and risk Thanos getting the infinity gauntlet or her brain turned off that moment. Reminder this was before The Marvels where the plot says she's supposed to be even weaker.

The only good thing about The Flash was Michael Keaton.

Kazenji
Haven't even seen The Flash, Seen some of the awful CGI from it on Corridor Crew.

Whoever, it certainly won't be Captain America and Iron Man. In their final trailer, I love how in Disney/Feige's desperate bid to pull in more viewers, they're trying to sucker anyone into believing those two are back (they're not btw).

Kazenji
I don't think the X-men, Whoever it was they were wearing a white suit the exact same ones from Endgame.

Quality will go up for sure. His problem is literally nobody is watching DC films anymore (with the exception of Batman & Joker).

Darkstorm Zero
I actually would like to see the MCU do the Onslaught Saga. Now that they have the X-men in their back pocket, and if they are integrating the Fox movies into their cannon, they don't need to retread the previous Dark phoenix and Apocalypse sagas.

rudester
They still Mobius storyline, as well as The Eternals, and Star-Lord storyline.

StiltmanFTW
Morbius was done by Sony it takes place in the Venomverse, my eternally confused friend.

Onslaught was an interesting menace for sure, but I would mostly only be interested in him being adapted if it's done how it originally was in the comics, where Apocalypse and Cable form a truce to stop him. If it was to be done without retreating old ground, only way I could see it is if they brought back the previous Apocalypse but redesigned to fit the MCU aesthetic, and Cable from Deadpool 2 who mostly looked the part already.

Hmm, thinking ore on it, they would probably have to retread old ground and do it serialised to build up to Onslaught the way they did it in the comics and match the energy of the old MCU.

Of course, thats a multi year commitment, and I don;t think Patrick Stewart could reprise that role of Xavier - he's no spring chicken anymore. I am not so sure who they could get to fill that role.

Yes and universes can merge and collapse on itself. What is your point, Robbie? confused

Stan from South Park: The multiverse was fun for a minute but now is just an excuse for lazy writing.
