Anointed Spiritual Music

Know any anointed spiritual music that you would like to share?

Anointed in the way that I mean it is singing/music that exalts, magnifies, praises, and glorifies the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that is inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Some songs are more inspired of God than others. Those who yield to the Spirit of God receive the greatest inspiration, and their songs are the most anointed. An anointed song will always glorify, exalt, and magnify God.

Below are some examples of Holy Spirit inspired songs. People who have yielded to the Holy Spirit's inspiration:

Much as it pains me to respond to a JIA thread with something other than sarcasm, I used to listen to a fair amount of Christian music. Some of it I now make fun of myself for (Raze) and others still hold up ok since their release (Jars of Clay, Michelle Tumes), while others were lost in a deluge of both apathy toward the genre and time (Audio Adrenaline, Michael what's-his-nuts).

Good music is good music. I'll be honest and say I rarely listen to the words or "message" of a song...there's very little that seems more vapid to me that deriving any kind of philosophical purpose from pop culture entertainment that presents itself in 3-5 minute blurbs. But if the tune works, then it works, regardless of the genre. So I don't mind a few of the albums I still keep around.

No, I make fun of myself for having once liked it. Bad music is bad music, regardless of genre and "message." Besides, should we really be looking too hard into song lyrics? I mean, really? None of them, not the most wonderful, complex songs ever, amount to a comprehensive argument or message. It just isn't the correct medium for imparting meaning, imo....feelings, idioms, etc. sure. But it's just aesthetically pleasing, or not, depending on the song.

Also, did you really only glean this one idea from my earlier paragraphs, where I also say that there's Christian music I do like? Try not to miss the point.

Hell, there's dozens of songs that I've heard upwards of 100 times that I barely know the lyrics to. My favorite bands are ones that mix orchestral sounds with metal, though. So while I enjoy the sense of something epic going on in the lyrics, I don't really need the details. The music itself is plenty.

Anyone for a little Psalm 69 by that obviously-christian-band-because-of-their-name, Ministry?

Just kidding OP.

Yeah, back in the mid 90's I enjoyed DC Talk (pre and post "Jesus Freak"wink, Jars of Clay, Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, God's Original Gangstaz, Bride, P.O.D, Petra, Third Day, and Thousand Foot Krutch. I don't listen to much of this anymore but every once in a while I'll pull up an Mp3 or three to give a listen.

I think I wore out my Newsboys "Going Public" tape (and then CDs) a few times over the years. Still listen to it occasionally but mainly because I enjoy the songs and not because of the 'praise' aspect.

The thing I believe is that, yeah, we can praise Him but not everything we do has to be to worship/praise him. We were given creativity for a reason. Not every painting needs to reflect God. Not every book needs to talk about him. In that vein, not every song needs to praise him.

To each their own, of course. That's what makes America great. The OP can have his/her view of the way things are as I can have my view. I have a live and let live view of it. I just hope the OP is as open minded and not in the 'my view is the only way so burn anyone else at the stake if they disagree' mindset.

Now to make nice with the OP may I suggest E Nomine and their cd Das Beste aus Gottes Beitrag und Teufels Werk. Specifically the song Vader Unser. No official video for it but you can at least listen to the song here.... youtube.com/watch?v=iHahMGj657Q

This moment will too pass us by.
It's this notion inside all of us to prioritize
Through our selfish eyes.
To be the bull behind the rampage,
The reason for all the riot.

We'll feed our flame before wasting time on everyone else's,
With more problems and less pride.
We'll feed our flame before wasting time on everyone else's,
The gallows were not supposed to look like this.

Oh God, we live in misery, lying here in desperation.

We need you here more than anything right now... right now.

If everything's relative,
Then why the emptiness in our souls? (2x)

Trying to untie the knot we thought
We were untying our entire lives,
We're busied up and burnt out...

Everyone together, we will strengthen ourselves. (3x)
We will.

Because now we know
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.

Stop, listen, and learn. (2x)

You won't ever fly fast enough to make time stand still.
Stop, listen, and learn. (4x)

If we could love
If we could love
There is an amount of love
An amount of grace
Beyond all meaning
Beyond all measure
If we could even grasp it
There would be more pleasure
There is no greater love than
laying your life down for a friend
If we loved God to a teaspoon
of his overflowing cup
What would this world then see?
Our land of sorrow and turmoil
would swirl to a community of joy
Open our eyes to glisten
Open our hearts to receive
Open our mouths to smile
This is a love that none can fathom
How can we repay
Love the Lord your God

To the following Christians listen closely.
We bring our light to a new realm, a realm you dare not enter,
Passing judgment behind stone walls, behind your absence of understanding.
We will crush your walls that dictate where our ministry goes,
Don't you ever tell me I'm using God as a gimmick.
I'm not a heretic, I'm not a hypocrite;
Those insults make me sick from the ones I have fellowship with.
We aren't doing this for our own, but for one name holy and alone.
These venues are our church,
We are the gospel in the darkness, and this is our exaltation.
We are the gospel in the darkness; we bring our light to a new realm,
A realm you dare not enter, passing judgment behind stone walls,
Behind your absence of understanding.
Are you listening!!!
We'll crush the walls that dictate where our ministry goes,
This is our church, this is our worship, GORSHIP!

you were a story I couldn't tell
I've only ever loved myself
But I've loved myself so well.
And how defeated I return!
(you're nice and blue, you're nice and blue)
I missed what I was supposed to learn
as all I learned about was missing you.

A life left half ehind, though no longer
blind I can't yet see. I'm not the boy that
I once was, but I'm not the man I'll be.
I've been waiting now, for six years on
(and have only just begun)
For the day you'll hold her in your arms,
oh risen Lord, my precious one.

I was once the wine, and you the wineglass.
I was once alive, when you held me.
God became the glass,
all things left were emptiness
Oh, my little girl, if you look out
andsee a trace of dark red that used
to be my face, in the clarity of his
grace: remember me.

Some songs are more inspired of God than others. Those who yield to the Spirit of God receive the greatest inspiration, and their songs are the most anointed. An anointed song will always glorify, exalt, and magnify God.

Open those eyes.
Wake from peace.
Orders are some favorite color.
Same old same old is their battle cry.
Why don't we keep searching for a new flavor?
Our hearts have become a routine.
Worthy kings have broken backs for nothing.
Unless we cherish all with pride,
the lines on our face will turn into canyons of sorrow instead of hope.
They didn't die from the cold without but they died from the cold within.
And I just can't stop denying that our brothers are in miserable pain.
Stop short.
Lend a hand and break the chains of regularity that you lean so closely upon.
Your little Suburbia is in ruins.
Tear down all the assumptions you hold, for I guarantee they are false.
Sometimes the best feeling may be the one that kills.

But you can still recognize
The definition in my face
We will forever stay united
We won't back down
And we will not stop fighting
We may stand or fall
But we'll never know
Until we take a hand
We've been waiting for a lifetime
And the determination in out stride
And the strength
And The strength of our purpose
We have waited for a lifetime
We won't let us pass us by

i don't know about any anointed spiritual music but there are some songs that resonate and speaks to the best part of us and makes a spirtual connection to whatever it is you believe in. me personally love lynyrd skynard : simple man... i think it is a great spiritual song and i could see it being played in church or anywhere for that matter.

then you got other songs and great bands that have some good religious metaphors and gives inspiration of hope and faith.

Oh I don't believe it,
That I could be so deceiving
And bringing you down to feel this lack of loyalty.

You were a song in my head,
The warmth of the sheets in my bed.
A story forever told, but never old,
A warm arrival never left so cold.

Don't blink, don't close your eyes,
But most of all don't apologize.
It's me who's got the demons to wrestle now.

Oh I don't believe it,
That I could be so deceiving
And bringing you down to feel this lack of loyalty.

'Cause you were a song in my head,
The warmth of the sheets in my bed.
A story forever told, but never old,
A warm arrival never left so cold.

Don't blink, don't close your eyes,
But most of all don't apologize.
It's me who's got the demons to wrestle now.

There's a patch of blue in the stormy sky,
A memory of a brighter time.
When everything was new, and less watered down,
Before the summer turned to brown.

Don't say you can't believe it now,
That you're almost settled down,
'Cause you'll be right here,
When I come back around.

Don't blink, don't close your eyes,
But most of all don't apologize.
It's me who's got the demons to wrestle now.

There's a patch of blue in the stormy sky,
A memory of a brighter time,
When everything was new, and less watered down,
Before the summer turned to brown.

Before the summer turned to brown
(Don't blink, don't close your eyes)
Before the summer turned to brown
(Don't blink, don't close your eyes)
Before the summer turned to brown
(Don't blink, don't close your eyes)

That music isn't even remotely close to 'spiritual'.

LYRICS:

Dead to sin, alive to Christ. Living for Jesus with no compromise.
Slaves to righteousness is God's delight. God has given us eternal life.
Live for Christ (x2), Die to self. (rpt).
Die daily and deny yourself. Pick up your cross and follow Jesus.
Live for Christ, Die to evil. Rejoice in God's love and God's forgiveness.
Live for Christ (x2), Die to self. (rpt).
If anyone would come after Jesus, they must deny themselves.
Take up their cross and follow Jesus. You must deny yourself.
Dead to sin, alive to Christ. Living for Jesus with no compromise.
Slaves to righteousness is God's delight. God has given us eternal life.
Live for Christ (x2), Die to self. (rpt).

Muslim song. (don't like the words - prayer song should be for people, not for Muhammad, but whatevah)

This song is really good for practising pronunciation of A'yn in Arabic, especially since in the first verses, it is in the middle of the word, which is where it is hardest to pronounce.

(for those who are learning Arabic)

Who do you think you are?
And what have you become?
I have barely recognized your face for so long.
What do you think they see?
And what have you portrayed?
I can barely recognize your face.

It started with just a taste.
It was just a game.
But you bought your lies
with the soul you once had.
You've created a monster.
A modern day Jekyll and Hyde.
You're not the same as you once were.
Still not sure you're even inside.
Do you even know your own name now?

Satisfy or be satisfied.
Eat it up now
'cause you've dug yourself in too deep.
Does it taste good? Do they taste good?
Was it worth it? Are they worth it now?

You've created a monster.
OH GOD WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!
We've created a monster.

Look at what you've become.
A monster.

Here's a Christian metalcore song that even non-Metal listeners can appreciate.

It's very mellow and soothing.

LYRICS:

All the times we have shared and all the memories I have,
brought me back to square one.
Now I'm running on empty.
Only You could pick me up,
without thinking twice,
You wrapped Your arms around me.

When we find truth inside ourselves,
it's hard not to run away.
But we must capture and embrace.
It's how we truly live our lives.

We will be everything we have been dreaming of.

When I look in the mirror what I see,
is the only thing that I can be.
I come to You now, defenses down.
Defenseless now.
When You look at me I want to be,
everything You want to see.
I come to You now defenses down.
Defenseless now.

We have all heard what we wanted to hear
Truth that sounds right to our ears

But what wisdom is there within us
To live based on the feeling of our hearts?
How many times has instinct let us down
Never to be thought through
Never to be questioned
Say what you really mean
When your ambition calls you
For what use is there in praying
If you will only hear what you want to hear?

We speak of fighting to resist this world
But what about the battle within us?
If we have chosen to live against the grain
Then why are we all facing the same way?
There is no difference between us and them
If we all blindly seek truth from sentiments

although this is not specifically about god it talks about family love..
god's love is the smile on a child's face and the love of a parent toward their children.

I get goosebumps everytime I listen to this song.

I'm not a very faithful person, but it's songs like this that makes makes me think and question God's existence.

Here's the lyrics:

So you say I'm better off here
As dry as the shoreline
In an ocean of fear

So you say I can't be alive
Until there is nothing
When we're meeting eyes again

Day by day, I wander these halls
And you're casting a shadow
Onto every wall

But all the way you ring in my ear
From the moment I knew you were leaving me here.
You're leaving me here.

This give and take,
This waiting on time
It's this twisted up memory that I can't unwind

These fragile words that fall from my mouth
I'm crumbling and crowded
But I've figured you out
I've figured you out

The shoreline calls the sea
For simple words and company
But words go on and on
Til they collide and all is gone.

I dive into the deep
Into the sea inside of me
To find another song
To find a place where I belong

We'll scream it loud!
This is our melody; it's time to sing it out
So give us words before we all forget!

This is where I lift my hands and say enough is enough!
So many people are broken and they're not getting up
This is our offering; this is our hope!
This is what we believe in, and we're not giving up

This is our song
So sing out loud a chorus for us.
And it's all too much; I can feel my lungs collapse on me.

Bitter soul why are you weeping tears that fall only for you?

This is our song
So sing out loud a chorus for us
It's all too much; I can feel my lungs collapse on me.

This is my worship; this is my life
To bring hope into this broken world

THIS IS MY WORSHIP!
THIS IS OUR WORSHIP!

This is our song (We'll scream it loud!)
So sing out loud (Sing out loud!) a chorus for us
It's all too much; I can feel my lungs collapse on me.

AsbestosFlaygon

Oh that these waves of uncertainty would drown me and take me to my grave
I am broken for this cause
I'm tired of screaming words of hope and grace
I'm unmoved, unstirred, unwavering
Break these chains and set this captive free

Does anyone have the heart to stand with me?
I could never do this on my own
I stand by and watch my family slowly fall apart
If faith can cause the blind to see why can't it pick up my brothers and sisters who have fallen down to the ground?
If there is no love then hope can never be found

Is this worth fighting for?
I am on my knees; I accept defeat
Is there hope for us?

How much love will we know to show if we have no love for ourselves?
It makes me sick to think that you and I live this way
How much love will we know to show if we have no love for ourselves?
It makes me sick to think that you and I live in apathy

I know its worth fighting for
I am on my knees, I can't accept defeat
There is hope for us!
Even in our darkest days and when it seems that weve lost our way and it seems
There is hope, there is hope!
There is a reason why we lift out hands and sing

Its wrong to say our hearts wont change as long as You are here
Its wrong to say our hearts wont change as long as You are

Who will be the hands and feet?
Who will go share this love with me?
Who will be the hands and feet of Jesus?
