Brilliant Thread, it shows two clear things, Superman has some pretty exotic high end powers and his basic power set as a combination for speed, strength etc. I much higher than his peers.

I'm almost scared of what the answer might be, but, in that scene on page 1 where Supes is fighting Mongul, given that Mongul has no chest plate or upper body ray devices like Iron Man or even Kraven the Hunter, where exactly is Mongul firing a beam from?

IIRC Mongul had a weapon surgically implanted into his chest.

This thread is nearly PEFECT!. The ONLY issue i have is with a couple timeline placements; I'd say Morrison's JLA was BEFORe the Mongul trainin upgrade at the beginning of Loeb/ Berganza era.

So first lets see how Normal Superman, Captain Marvel, Captain Atom and Wonder Woman were faring against mere hardlight constructs of Warworld.

That's a speed feat. He's in the galaxy to warn ran of the supernova but evacuated before it hit him. He's very fast.

How do you interpret Cosmic Armor Superman's metafictional feat in Superman Beyond 3D?
Some said that he is far beyond DC "story" and above even Presence or WF mxy because they are still within DC "story".
Others said that Cosmic Armor is only Skyfather level because of statement about "heat of 10 billion sun".
What tier do you put him?

Due to Thought-Robot's adaptive/dynamic nature, he and Mandrakk continuously became more and more powerful as the story progressed. The battle finally ended when Thought-Robot pushed Mandrakk into the Overvoid -- the mind of the Primal Monitor.

To put the original Mandrakk's power into perspective, even his vastly weaker iteration was >> Spectre+Radiant. It ultimately required a wish from the Miracle Machine, in conjunction with direct intervention from SuperJudge Nix Uotan(who was acting in a multiversal capacity), to overcome him.


That being said, Thought-Robot was about as powerful as a character/item/object can be within the realm of in-universe story... Beyond multiversal. The notion that it was Skyfather-level is absurd, and likely propagated by people who either a.) are trying to downplay it by any means(no matter how ridiculous), b.) simply did not comprehend the source material, OR c.) a mixture of both.

In fact, i can understand that power level of Cosmic Armor depends on how people interpret metafictional concept by Grant Morrison in Superman Beyond 3D and other Morrison's story(because Morrison's story are related to each other).
So, i can understand that there are difference about how people interpret CAS, and there are people who treat CAS as ridiculous.
But, considering only that Bleed space encompasses DC "story"(because Bleed is ink) and how tiny is Bleed space from higer sphere, CAS being only Skyfather level is nonsense, i think.

Do most people discussing CAS in all over the internet actually read Final Crisis and Superman Beyond 3D(and Supergods written by Morrison)?
Or, do people misunderstand Superman Beyond 3D because it is too metafictional?
Or, do people discuss without reading?

So, I'm in a dilemma.

I can either:

a). Update the thread with post-Crisis/pre-Flashpoint Superman feats post-Rebirth

or

b). Wait until mid-year after the Superman crossover/Rebirth reveals are done, to see what's the deal with New 52 Superman/this version .

Now, my assumption is that they will merge/it will be revealed that they're the same character, in which case:

1). I have to update this thread with New 52 Superman feats
2). Also add the feats from Rebirth up to the merging/reveal.

Oh wow. I haven't seen that cover or those solicits yet. I can definitely see what you are saying. Its kind of neat seeing the two Supermen drawn together. I hope they don't do away with Lois. When Wally returned, I was wondering how the two Supermen would play out.

The merged Superman should be the Authentic Superman-- the Pre-Crisis Superman with full memories of his entire history from the Golden Age, SILVER Age, Post Crisis, Post Zero Hour, Post Birthright, Post IC, And Nu52 integrated. Anything else is another continuity error AGAIN.

As predicted, Post-Crisis Superman and New 52 are literally the same guy and they've become whole again in today's issue of Action Comics.

I will be updating the thread with New 52 and DC Rebirth feats, as they're valid going forward for a single character.

We also saw this when he saw him match Kal-L(1/2 of Silver Age Superman) and both of them directly overpower SBP(who has Silver age levels)

Now, to have the complete picture, let's have a look at the other half of the whole that is Current Superman...

There's two time periods in which these feats take place, either at the start of his career - which will be denoted as or around present day.

To have a few words in regards to his portrayal throughout this publishing period - if there's one word to describe it, at least at first, it's raw. He was action first, confident but, at the same time, inexperienced. But, as stories advanced, there was a revert to mean, and the young head-first version that was introduced morphed into a somewhat season veteran that most writers actually wanted to write -- the classic Superman. He was constantly getting stronger, breaking through whatever limits he had before, and as the threats got bigger, as with Helspont, H'El or Doomsday, he started in classic Superman fashion to understand that he needs to increase the level he operates at even further and, through training or being put into end-of-the-world doomsday scenarios, he broke through the limits of what he thought he could do.
