Just saw this movie after hearing a lot about it pretty much it is about two Irish brothers, Connor and Murphy, who believe themselves ordained by God to rid the world of evil men. Their first killing is in self-defense; but after that, they start killing with devotion, gunning down a summit of the Russian mafia. Willem Dafoe plays a gay FBI agent who knows what the boys are doing but feels that their vigilante tactics are necessary. Its pretty violent and has some nice camera work, and ideas in it...overall its about a 7/10.

yeah boondock saints all saints day..yeah unfortunately. boondock saints, was pretty great movie for fans of the genre seeing how it diddnt follow the regualr formula's of crime movies at all

furryman
Willem Dafoe in drag - priceless.

SeptemberRain
What the f*ck would u two f*ckin' micks know about it?

Waggy the Dog
this movie let me down in so many ways.
I still have no idea what the hell it was trying to be. It wasn't all that funny, it was really filmed too well, and it was not violent at all by my standards. They really are just not trying anymore.

SeptemberRain
why? it was great

Waggy the Dog
{laugh}...no. It wasn't. I thought it would be, but sadly...it wasn't.

furryman
I thought the same erm but:

I think the indecision that the movie took on what genre it was trying to be was what amde it so good. If i had known nothing about the movie, lets say i cought it one late night on showtime, iwould have never expected vigalante violence, that just came out of no where, some guys just up and decided to be crime fighters. the characters were also appealing and written well

Waggy the Dog
How?!

they were as likeable as a well-drawn portrait of some ancient Egyptian God. And what I mean by that is, in theory they should be cool and appealing, but get boring very quickly. This is very true about the two brothers in the movie. There is little to no character development in the movie.

I have to agree, that was the best. Happy Dance

I loved this movie. The concept of the Saints I think is too good to stop at a single movie. The problem I had with it was making Willem Dafoe's character gay. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against homosexuals, but it wasn't neccessary. They probably added it so he could sneak in dressed as a woman and make out with that guy but it was pointless having him go in there, he didn't do anything.

2 bad things about Boondock Saints 2, no Willem Dafoe, no Rocco.

"A six shooter?! Look around you, genious, nine bodies! What were you gonna do, laugh the last three to death, Funny Man!!"

I completely disagree. Willem Dafoe played the coolest gay character I've ever seen (I'm straight by the way). Most male homosexuals portrayed in film are feminine and sensitive; Dafoe played an intelligent, charismatic, and unusual gay character. He called his lover a ***: what a great line.

But I agree about the sequel: it will be lacking.

tabby999
i thought we saw in the movie the begining of some really cool characters, they started to get in on the fun and we bagan to know more about them and we'll onlylearn more as the second movie rolls i suppose. really liked the first one 8.5/10 for me
