I'd have to ask why you hate Johnny Depp. I think he is one of the most under rated actors today. And I think it's just about time that somebody notices his acting abilities.
When I first saw Orlando Bloom as Legolas, I thought he was the Legolas I've been reading about days before. For me, Legolas brought the character to life.
(hehe when my aunt first saw LoTR she knew nothing and tried to figure out who was who - and when she saw Legolas, she cried "ah yes, and thats the princess everybody wants to guard!" )
