This was done in the Comics I believe, except it was suited Vader, against a cloned Darth Maul, Maul lost

Yes, it happened in an Infinities comic therefore non-canon. And, in any case, it's not a clone for definite, Leland Chee has said in his blog:

"It's not quite the real Darth Maul. Hence the "or something." Who knows, it could have been a vision like Luke confronting Vader on Dagobah or just some sort of Sith illusion. Or a clone. Nothing's been determined as to what we are actually seeing, just that Vader and Maul have a pretty cool battle."

So, who's to say it was even as good as the real Maul? Doesn't really matter, because Vader wins.

As if you need a comic to tell you Vader would win.

She also doesn't hate me. But she doesn't like me. That's because we've never seen each other before.

She may not have ever seen you, but she still hates you, the day you make a thread, or even post on one, she hates you

Are any Infinities canon? I've heard a few of them are.

quote:
Looking it up... ah yes. But that's only a few months into the war, Kenobi progresses alot during the war. At that time, Asajj is clearly his superior, however, by the end of the war, he has surprassed her overall for sure., not sure about with the Force, who knows if Asajj even got stronger with the Force since she did that to him, though.

True, but Asajj also progresses much through the war and gains much experience (fights loads of jedi for instance), although I would agree that by Obsession, Obi-Wan is the clear superior. I'd also like to point out that she holds Obi in the air without her hands to guide her, pretty good mastery of the force imo. Though, as you mentioned Obi-Wan was very fatigued and injured in the battle which undermines the feat by quite lot. Also, I don't see why Asajj wouldn't improve with the force.

quote:
I doubt it. Asajj is extremely arrogant. I really don't think she knows that much about Grievous, just who he is and that's all. In all her battles she first goes for a saber duel, that's what we always see her do first, even if she could maybe defeat her opponent more easily using the Force. She probably likes the challenge and wouldn want to prove herself a better swordsman than Grievous. I really doubt she'd be smart enough or level headed enough to think 'Grievous is a machine. He can't use the Force. if I can just zap wim with some Force Lightning...'. More likely I believe that she will not think at all and she will just rush him with her saber ignited as she does to all of her opponents.

Possibly, you have a point but I was kinda treating this thread about who has the ability to win. Assaj imo has the ability, just possibly wouldn't in practise.

quote:
You know, imo that's the only real weakness of Soresu. You see, just as usual, she first engaged Kenobi in a lightsaber duel. Not being able to penetrate his defenses, she used the Force to defeat him, in a similar way to what Dooku did in ROTS (not being able to overcome Kenobi in a saber duel so pwning him with the Force). The thing about Soresu is, it's all about defense, blocking one's saber attacks. So Asajj swings at him, kenobi blocks it, but rarely uses any offense against her, unless, of course, it's the final blow of the duel. However, since he's not swinging madly at her or, really, not swinging at her much at all if she chooses too she can just stop for a second to use the Force without getting stabbed by his blade, so, imo, when a Soresu user fights anyone who is stronger than they are with the Force they are doomed. IMO that's the only weakness Soresu has, and, imo, it's also why Dooku pwnd Kenobi so badly in ROTS. But, with Grievous, if Asajj engages him in saber combat right away I doubt she'll have any opportunity to stop saber fighting and pwn Grievous with the Force, for if she stops even for an instant he'll stab her. That's also why I think Dooku didn't use the Force during his duel with Anakin in ROTS, cause he didn't get a chance and then Anakin overpowered him with sheer fury and dueling skills. And that's what I think will happen to Asajj in her duel with Grievous. Does that make sense? And also remember that when Obi-Wan was fighting Asajj is The New Face of War he has a cracked skull, which must hurt like hell and damper his ability to concentrate and thus making him not as strong with the Force as he normally would be.

I completely agree, Soresu is just too passive a form and gives the opponent time to execute something such as a force attack.

quote:
Fear is only part of the battle. Sure, Greivous fights better when fear is on his side, but thats not to say he is screwed without it. He easily has the skill to back him up. In the CW cartoon he was able to take on 5 jedi masters at once, several of them being on the jedi council, and survive. You can not put this down to fear alone. Greivous has the skill and expertise to take on multiple strong opponents at once and win. Asajj doesnt.

1. ROTS Grievous is not as deadly as CW Grievous.
2. These jedi weren't exactly the strongest of jedi, and they were tired as thay had just been fighting a war.
3. Asajj replicates a similar feat in Jedi: Mace Windu. IIRC, she doesn't fight as many as Grievous does but she still shows that she is easily capable of fighting strong numbers of jedi.

Though you do have a point, Asajj has never been shown to take on that many jedi as easily as Grievous did, though just because she never does it it doesn't mean she doesn't have the ability.

quote:
This doesnt mean that his skill has decreased, in fact it has probably increased, but his speed has been severely hindered from Mace's force crush.

I'd say that his speed was a major part of his overall skill (along with strength and unpredictability.

quote:
I also have no doubt that Asajj would use the Force if she was losing.

I completely agree.
Asajj has displayed good enough force mastery to lift Obi-Wan up with the force without the need of her hands to guide her. This would mean that she would probably be able to pull something off in a heartbeat, as she doesn't need to waste precious seconds raising her hands etc.

I believe it happened in a "Tales" comic, not "Infinities." The issue number was 9. I have it.

Anyway. Vader wins.
