The Hero of Tython Respect Thread

Since apparently SWTOR characters are "obscure" despite TOR being the largest Star Wars game ever released, I will be creating a few threads for some of the more prominent characters from the game so that people who do not play it can get abreast with their abilities. I'm not sure exactly who needs this treatment but at the moment I plan on doing a thread each for:

The Hero of Tython (this thread)
The Barsen'thor
Darth Nox
The Grand Champion of the Great Hunt
The Voidhound
Darth Thanaton
Darth Malgus
Satale Shan (?)
Not Nomi Sunrider.

I have no current plans to do one on the Second Emperor's Wrath since I've only just started Act 1 with that class, Darth Baras for the same reason and Vitiate because I'm sure everybody is well aware of what he's done by now. Oh and also the Havoc Squad Commander cuz theres not really enough for a respect thread that I can recall. They're the best soldier in the galaxy by far and you do things that go 'yep, you really are the best!'

This thread will be a bit more detailed than the feat list in my profile, although it formed the basis for it. I'll try to elaborate on feats and victories to explain them a bit more. Videos will be posted when something notable occurs in them

Accolades:

"One of the strongest padawans the Jedi have seen in generations. - SWTORE pg. 92

”Your former Masters praise your combat skills. They say you're becoming an expert duelist." – Knight Wellun, at the start of the game.

”You held off all these attackers by yourself with only a practice saber? Impressive.” Orgus Din.

“The Force is strong in you. Stronger than I've seen in decades.” Orgus Din.

“You are stronger than any Jedi I have known” - Bengal Morr after his defeat. A pretty good accolade considering Morr was training on Coruscant with the Jedi's 'greatest' as he calls them, and was the padawan of the prominent Jedi Orgus Din. Even as a padawan the Hero was one of the most powerful Jedi in the Order.

“Theres nothing else I can teach you.” – Orgus Din (you didn't teach me shit in the first place you ****ing joke) after defeating Morr.

“I sense your power. Now I understand why Tarnis was no match for you..... Such skill. So much power. Impressive.” – Sith Lord Praven.

“You are strong and touched by darkness. That is unexpected. An advantage? Possibly.” – Lord Scourge (he then calls the Hero the Emperor's most hated enemy).

“You are the Jedi's finest.” – Lord Scourge.

“You are our greatest warrior… and our best hope." – Satale Shan. So yeah, by all account by this point the Hero of Tython was the greatest Jedi in the Order, above even such powerhouses as the Barsen'thor, Satale Shan and Jaric Kaedan (the dude who defeated the Dread Masters almost single-handedly). And still their power would grow.

"You harness immense power." - Sith Emperor to the Hero of Tython.

”The Hero of Tython. Your martial skills are legendary.” – Loyat, apprentice to Darth Arho.

“You are our greatest asset.” – Supreme Chancellor Suresh

Feats and defeated opponents:

Dark Jedi Callef.

The Jedi Knight defeated and killed this Dark Jedi and two Fleshraider warriors while armed only with a practice saber and after already fighting dozens of fleshraiders. Trained by Bengel Morr for several years. Dude had a lightsaber. Noted as impressive by Orgus Din.

Bengel Morr

He is a powerful Dark Jedi. A survivor of Sacking of Coruscant event, it can be assumed he was pretty beastly considering he survived this attack while as he puts it the 'greatest' of the Jedi fell around him. Since then he has 'studied the paths to power' and trained for his dumb revenge. Defeated the battle-hardened Jedi Master Orgus Din in single combat (?). Again, the really impressive thing here is that the Knight defeated him with only a practise saber. After his defeat he credits the Knight as the strongest Jedi he has ever met.

Jurgoran

Fought after deafeating Bengal Morr, a strong resilient beast about 3 meters tall and able to rip a huge rock out of the ground and throw it at the Knight. Admired by Sith for its power. The standard fight in this game to wet your new lightsaber on. Still kind of impressive due to size and strength.

Sith Lord Tarnis

Son of powerful Darth Angral. He was likely a skilled swordsman as he was trained by the excellent warrior Lord Praven. Not much else about him. He could so the lightning. :T

Lord Sadic

Noted to be highly powerful before he underwent the Power Guard programme, which transformed him from a small and slight man into a hulking cybernetic giant. The Power Guard programme was designed to create the “ultimate soldier, one tough enough to take even a Sith on.” Notedly, Temp, you can call this out and say no ordinary soldier can beat the Force, but General Var Suthra simply replies that they're closer than you'd think to matching the Force. So its easy to assume that they cybernetic enhancements would be substantial. Sadic was said to be the best of Angrals apprentices even before his upgrade, which is impressive considering it would make him superior to Praven. All the more impressive then that the Knight defeated him after he's been enhanced with powerful cybernetics.

Valis

A Child of the Emperor. The Emperor's Children are universally powerful in the extreme, being portrayed as good fights for even the Barsen'thor at the end of the game. I think its quite the pip in the Knights cap that they're defeating Children so early in their career (mid-Act 1) and a good comparison between them and the Barsen'thor. 😉

Sith Lord Praven

Yes, as Legend would describe it, Praven is an EXPERT swordsman. He defeated Master Usma, one of the Jedi's most famous duelists during the Sack of Coruscant “in an epic battle.” He then told Usma's padawan to complete their training before he'd kill her. She did and he did. He also defeated Jedi Council Member Kiwiks before he loses to the Knight.

The Sand Demon

This thing hunts Krayt Dragons. 😐

Let that set in for a moment. Codex Entry. Basically it is a beast that can bore through rock and kill even Krayt Dragons. As a testament to this there are Krayt Dragon skeletons littered around its lair. Krayt Dragons are some of the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy, so hunting them logically makes the Sand Demon a complete monster. The Knight defeats it while the cave they're finghting in is collapsing due to proximity to the Shock Drum, a weapon that destroys planets with steadily increasing quakes.

Lord Nefarid

Its noted that he isn't very powerful in the Force despite the fact that hes pants-shittingly difficult in the game. Still, we see how immensely hard it is to prove yourself worthy of becoming a Sith Lord in the Inquisitor campaign, so he must be pretty good. Also he can become invisible and has a ****ing orbital death laser firing at you throughout the fight, which the Knight dodges several times. So its still a good feat that the Knight defeated a Sith Lord while dodging an orbital laser, which I imagine must be pretty ****ing fast since its a laser that comes from space. Duh.

Darth Angral

One of the Empire's most celebrated warlords; very powerful in the Force; master swordsman; decent tactician; commander of Darth Malgus; slaughtered Orgus Din. Lead the Sack of Coruscant, the most significant military attack in Imperial History. This lead to him being offered a place on the Dark Council, but he refused. So even as of Act 1 the Hero defeated a Dark Council-level opponent. After fighting through the Desolator to get to him.

Kira Carsen (possessed)

Kira is then possessed by the Emperor and you have to defeat her. While Kira is obviously not as powerful as the Hero, the Emperor is likely the most skilled and knowledgeable Force User up to that point in galactic history, plus you'd just fought through a star destroyer and fought a Darth. Besides which is the simple fact that Kira is a Child of the Emperor and so is likely still decidely powerful.

YouTube video

4.40 for the Angral fight and 6.50 for the Kira one.

Pulled down pieces of the ceiling to collapse four tunnels which the Colicoids were using to enter a hospital, despite resistance from several dozen enemies.

.... pretty self-explanatory.

YouTube video

4.50.

Lord Scourge, The Emperor's Wrath

Holonet profile.

“Entire generations of the Sith Dark Council have passed under the watchful eys of the Emperor's personal executioner, the grim Lord Scourge. As the feared “Emperor's Wrath”, Scourge enforced his Master's will for more than three centuries. When a Jedi grew too powerful, or a Sith too ambitious, Scourge eliminated the threat.” - SWTORE pg. 94

Lord Scourge was an excellent swordsman even as of Revan, being a Juyo master and thus a 'high-end master of multiple forms” (specifically Ataru and Soresu). After this his strength and power was enhanced by the Emperor and his life was extended. Over the next 300 years Lord Scourge was challenged repeatedly by Jedi and Sith, but undefeated. His job entails him to be above the Dark Council and they are noted to be wary and afraid of him. His personal kill record of Sith and Jedi exceeding 1000, with over a hundred Jedi the Emperor deemed powerful enough to pose a threat killed and ten times that number of Sith. This is one of the highest numbers of personal kills in the entire mythos. Thus his battle experience will be off the charts, as will his training, having 300 years worth of it (when in a mere 30 he mastered 3 lightsaber forms).

Leeha Narez

One of the strongest Jedi of the Order, as per canonical source statements that Tol Bragas strike team was made up of the 'strongest', 'most powerful and most resolute Jedi in the Order.' She is noted to have never been defeated. Until she met the Hero of Tython. The Hero defeats her as well as her 3 droid companions.

Warren Sedoru

One of the strongest Jedi of the Order; He survived many near-death situations and was a veteran of the previous war. Satale Shan credits him as the best infiltrator in the Order, as well as some other things which I've forgotten. Is said to have diminished Force Powers, yet still manages to overpower the Force hold the Hero of Tython had on a trooper and toss him aside and mindrape an admiral into revealing the Republic fleets defense codes. Implies that the Emperor boosted his power somehow, which explains why is power might be more than statements would imply. Raises the possibility that the other Jedi's power was amped.

Guardsman Lassicar

A member of the Imperial Guard who's defeated 'six Jedi and over two dozen Sith Lords who made the mistake of crossing the Emperor.' The Imperial Guard are noted as being the best non-force users in the galaxy, and this guy is a notable member of them.

Ancient Terentatek

Bigger than a regular terentatek, this thing was pretty damn big. The Knight fights it on Belsavis. I assume that everything about a Terentatek, this thing is better at.

Lord Fulminiss

One of the greatest Sith Sorcerers in the Empire, who is said to have once disintegrated an entire city with 'a raging storm of pure Force energy.' He's noted for his skill at alchemy and sorcery, particularly in his ability to create monsters and stuff and is generally a 'master of the dark sides most arcane and lethal aspects'. His knowledge is such that even members of the Dark Council handsomely pay for his work. Was able to drive even Sith Lords and Voss Mystics to gibbering madness before he learned the Voss ritual of healing and corrupted it to increase his powers of madness. Planned to use his power to drive the entire planet Voss insane with the aid of Sel-Makor.

The Gormak Guardian

Its ****ing enormous:

The Gormak by its leg is a good 7-8 feet tall. The Gormak Guardian is telepathic and a manifestation of Sel-Makor, radiating darkside energy and dominating the minds of the Gormak. As an avatar of Sel-Makor we can assume it to be an extremely powerful darkside abomination.

Blitzed 2 Sith Warriors

YouTube video

11.05. For clarity: You come up behind them after they've defeated Jedi Council member Kiwiiks and instead of just killing them from behind the Hero gives them time to react to them by activating their lightsaber, leaping straight over them and then cutting both of them down before they can do anything.

Blitzed 2 Sith Warriors (again)

YouTube video

16.45. This time they drop down from the ceiling behind the Hero in an ambush yet the Hero turns around and cuts both down with a single slash each.

Tol Braga (Fallen)

The fall of Tol Braga.

One of the strongest Jedi of the Order. He defeated a Dark Councillor in single combat after several days of fighting, indicating massive stores of power and stamina. The Hero can also dominate his mind, which is a really damn good feat since Braga is the only Jedi known to have thrown off the Emperor's mental domination completely by himself. Braga was shown to be resisting Vitiates lightning storm rather well in the Act 2 fight. Notable in the fight he gives the Hero shortly before they would defeat Vitiate himself.

YouTube video

Fought through Kaas City

Kaas City is one where every citizen is a trained member of the military (this is explained further in Swtore: basically all imperials join the military by law since they need that to make up for their massive handicap in numbers compared to the Republic). The Hero fights through it to get to the Dark Temple.

Fought through the Imperial Guard

“'The Empire's ultimate non-Force sensitive warriors, the Imperial Guard is a selfless army devoted to the Emperor and the Emperor alone. Clad in blood-red armor and wielding deadly weaponry designed to exterminate Force users, the Imperial Guard sweep across the Galaxy at the Emperor's command, destroying his enemies both outside and inside the Empire. When confronted by the Imperial Guard, the mightiest of Sith have laid down their lightsabers and surrendered to the inevitable death offered by a guardsman's electrostaff. Even members of the Dark Council fear the Imperial Guard, though many would die before confessing such weakness." - SWTORE pg. 162

The top Non-force using warriors in the galaxy, 'unmatched in martial skill' and able to contend with Jedi and Sith. They're able to draw off the Emperor's power when they are close to him, which would have made them that much more difficult for the Hero to fight through. The Knight fights through them to get to the Emperor (after already fighting through Kaas City).

The Sith Emperor

Avatar of the dark side; supremely powerful in the Force. Fought on a darkside nexus so powerful that conventional weapons don't even work near it. Many arguments have been had over this feat but I feel I've done a good job of arguing why A) it was indeed the Emperor the Hero fought and not his Voice (SWTORE even has pictures of the fight, calling him 'The Emperor' both times) and B) That the two would have been in rather similar conditions. Vitiate was highly weakened by his failed ritual, but Scourge claims that 'he will recover swiftly' and he was on an extremely powerful dark side nexus in the form of the Dark Temple (which may amp him even more than regularly since his power is tied to the spirits there and he's draining them). Furthermore the Hero has the chance to go to save their love interest shortly before fight, an effort which as Vitiate describes 'dissipated your energy' and gives Vitiate even more time to recover. Which he demonstrates by using additional Force powers in the cutscene if you chose to save them than he does if you did not. And as I have explained above, the Hero did not have an easy trip to get to the Emperor either, fighting through incredibly tough defenses and troops to get to him. If the trip to rescue their LI disapated their energy, it stands to reason that the fighting to get to Vitiate would as well. Therefore I argue that both were in similar shape for the fight. Should the Hero chose the darkside option at the end, they will ragdoll Vitiate off the ground, pin him and collapse the ceiling on top of him.

YouTube video

This is the big one. An amazing feat skyrocketing the Hero to the upper echelons of the mythos.

And that should be it. The others will hopefully not be as comprehensive and time-consuming as this was.

most impressive.

Temp is a blind fool.

how so?

Good thread.

Thank you.

I'd forgotten that the Hero has people calling them the most powerful Jedi as early as Tython. It really does suggest to me that they're head and shoulders above the rest of their era.

this thread ****ing sucks

HoT has no Force feats?

Some. They toss Possessed Kira back in their fight without gesturing. They rip huge rocks out of the ceiling in order to plug up colocoid nests (watching the above video, I put them at around car-sized in length). Destroy one of Vitiates clones with a Force Push. Dominate Tol Braga and ragdoll Vitiate n the darkside choices. Used the Force in their fight against Sedoru:

YouTube video

0.25.

They can kill with a single Force push in a cutscene:

YouTube video

4.53, if you pick the option [kill a mercenary] which annoyingly no-one does on youtube so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Shut the bridge on Makeb with the Force:

YouTube video

5.50,

Those last two are iffy in terms of canon though, which is why I didn't put them in at first.

But the Hero really isn't a Force using combatant. Mostly its just blocking attacks and lightsabers.

The Hero is an extremely powerful force user. He just uses that to boost his martial prowess and physical capabilities. 😉

Yes. It really can't be argued that the Hero is not powerful in the Force, as numerous people remark on their immense power or say that they are the strongest Jedi in the order.

👆

lol

Good thread Neph. I never knew HoT was that powerful.

Another convert. >:]

I just can't respect a guy whose name is a title.

Nice thread doe.

I remember this, though I didn't get much further beyond Coruscant.

Btw, they are going to flag characters for name changes if you are not currently subbed, or if un-subbed have not played said character for X amount of days (anywhere from 30-120 days, depending on preferred status and character level. Characters above 30 are not flagged, iirc). You may have gotten an email about it.

I hadn't considered Scourge to be as powerful as you point him out to be. Interesting.

The HoT, however, is ****ing awesome. There's really no question imo that he is on par with the likes of Yoda and RotS Sids.

Nice thread 😄

Thanks. Alot of effort went into it. I hope it helps people to give the HoT the respect s/he deserves.
