Electro has been known to manipulate the electromagnetic spectrum as well. Just saying. Not as well as Magneto or as high a level as Mags can go, bu to a smaller degree.

It's hard to say which is better really. With a little creative writing, either power can spread into flat out energy manipulation. For those characters, it'd probably go to the magnetics.
