Don't be silly. Thor isn't beating cap without mjolnir in a slugfest.

CM easily, unless Thor has Mjolnir

How many shots from Mjolnir can Cap take if Thor is allowed unlimited time to charge and power up the hammer strike?

Why do people think Captain Marvel would beat Thor in a slug fest without Mjolnir? What advantages does he hold over Thor? I'm just curious as to where people think the two match up strength wise.

Depends on how much he charges it up but I'd reckon it's very few.

Like sometimes Thor will power up an attack for a long time--like under Simonson when he is attacking Surtur and is being ignored. These kinds of attacks aren't usually useful in a 1v1 battle as they take too long to get going and you are basically telegraphing your attack.
But in a slugfest, if Thor can just whirl his hammer for 60 seconds drawing lightning into it and charging it magically then two-handing it across Cap's face, and Cap has to just take it, well...I'm thinking that would hurt.

Something like this is what he reserves for facing beings Skyfather and up:

Against Billy and other Heralds, that would be a one shot imo.

Thor is now going to beat Cap with bare hands when even Superman has difficulty doing it?

Just realised that he does the power rangers things of naming his attacks.
Did they all do that back then?

Cap is pretty much a physical peer to Superman. So saying Thor easily defeats him in fist fight isn't quite right.

Uh, I don't think anyone believes Thor can easily punch out Captain Marvel with his fists. It's debatable if he can punch him out at all but I think a strong case can be made.

Also Rage forgot to put the following scan where Thor himself tanked the attack and only got knocked out by another attack by Surtur after taking several attacks from Surtur.

All hail skyfather Thor.

I think the thousand suns line is hyperbole, but that's just me. It could be argued that the air around the hammer was heating up due to the friction of swinging the hammer (like when spacecraft burn up in re-entry). Maybe that is why Thor survived the hit himself. But I agree that it could possibly one shot an average showing herald level being. Definitely not a high end high herald level being though. Characters in classic comics grossly fluctuated inconsistently in power, even skyfathers.
