Rules

CIS & PIS is OFF!: We are drafting 2-3 characters, and their abilities. You the participant take ownership of how said characters & abilities will be realized in combat.

Character Knowledge: Contestants are fully aware the characters drafted, including its history, and weaknesses.
Also the Amalgam can use powers as good as the originals.

Amping Rules: Disallowed. Materials that aid a power (i.e. Jeffries/adamantium) are allowed. Power amping is not (i.e. The Ray + Kara)

Note: Amping is a state of empowerment fueled by some source source, that increases a characters physical prowess or ability.

Banned: Power Unlock. Going forward No form of amping, or power unlock will be allowed.

Tech Creation & Non-Autonomous Constructs/Summons: High Herald limit.

No you can not summon an entire realm or dimension.

Interchanging Feats: You are in control of the character, but you are also confined to what that character has accomplished historically.

You can't borrow feats from someone else, even if your similar characters.

Example:
X-Man can not Borrow Feats Cable.
G.L. Hal can not Borrow Feats from G.L. John.

Prep: You are given time to raise shields. Otherwise NO prep time.
Clarification: Only traditional shields are allowed during prep (as in repelling external forces). Cloaking, masking, or shielding your presence are NOT allowed during prep.

Creating gear can only take place in the heat of battle, after the bell has rung.

TP: High-Herald

Speed: Over lightspeed but not double. Teleportation IS allowed.

Banned Powers: Reality Warp, Time Manip., Duplication, Power Copying, Autonomous Constructs (tech or magic), Memory Retention

Note: Space Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, and the Speed Force is allowed provided that the drafted characters are low herald and below.

Functional Immortals are Banned: Functional immortals such as Lobo, Mr. Immortal, Deadpool are disallowed or voided.

Standard Gear Rule Character comes in with what he is historically known for caring.

Non standard gear must be created you NOT grab it from your lab, and equip yourself with it.

BFR BFR is banned.

Self BFR is only good for phasing.

Good for 1 second.

Roughly at whom does the "mid-herald" cap peak?... roughly.

That's worth discussing.

So power levels should cap out at say Maxima?

TBH I'm almost tempted to leave it as is, like how it's displayed on the tier list, unless a compelling case is made against a character.

No 3 person team is only if no picks are mid herald and topp out at low herald.

See, that's the problem with most of these tournaments, all these PMs to ask about rules. What's the point of only one person being sure of a rule and the other 6/7 drafting based on a completely different understanding?

I didn't p.m. to ask about the rules ipm him my choices and was told I couldn't have them because one was a mid herald. My other choices were a low herald and a mid meta

FTR that's also pretty much what happened in iD's tourney. When I was asking if I could have Mr Miracle I said he was low herald but mentioned the ale. ID asked me for a brief rundown on the strategy I was planning to rule if he was OK.

I wasnt pming to ask to clear a strategy just being upfront that my pick had a potential (one he hadn't realised ) to exceed tye limits..

If you'll remember in that tourney I made his ruling on unlocking clear while people were still drafting just as I've done here.

There's nothing underhanded I can assure you. I'm more than happy to vet my three picks (and the one denied) opnely in this thread if anyone wants.

Sure, my point is that just because the organiser thinks something might be ok, it doesn't mean the other competitors or judges will agree. Much like your ALE attempt; frankly I'm not sure anyone really believed it was viable OR legal other than yourself and Id.

I didnt have that, i had a little snooty anger from Arthur Curry, that is part of bhis character. The amount of the Ale that would unlock was miniscule at best. When DS had only a "portion " of the Ale it barely amped him at all. He was amped to much higher degree by the soul fire and absorbing the energy of the dead gods.
Hell even with the full power of the Ale in DoTNG Scott Free couldn't beat infinity man who was only using a portion of the Sources power as his avatar (yet more proof that the equation and entity are two separate things because the entity is the sources equal in all respects.

What exactly did i do with the ALE in my match, i used it to immobilize my opponent and trap them. I did that because that was realistically all one could do without a much more evil/darker emotional state. Tg ere were plenty of characters i could have picked with those traits but i would have considered that breaking the rules, overstepping ty e mark..

Even still, a more explicit ban on forces (i.e. ALE) that can be above the caps might be in order, to go along with amping rules. In the example of what is allowed (Jeffries/Adamantium), neither the power set nor the metal on its own exceeds the caps, so it's ok.

For reference, BB, I assumed your usage of the ALE was legal because it wasn't questioned much in-match and Id ok'd it. My vote against was due to execution of the plan.

Also, friendly word of advice to everyone: ban the more uber Flashes, and/or overt speed force manipulation. The last tourney managed to be ok allowing lightspeed because really only Jay could skirt in under the caps. But no judge wants to read a bunch of people squabbling over which picosecond feats are better, which is what it will devolve into once everyone realizes there's no reasonable counter to say, Wally or Barry's reflexes other than taking their own speedster.
