What i want to do is look at Thor and Superman in a diffrent light.. Going by the Marvel handbook power rating scale. Marvel has a scale of 1 - 7 that they use to rate powers or abilitys, the higher the number the more powerful in that catagory. You tell me what you feel SUPERMAN's power rating should be if your going by the Marvel handbook power rating scale. THOR's ratings are there as an example to help you.
In the Marvel handbook: The power ratings of THOR are:
Intelligence.. rating of 2 ...meaning Normal
Strength..... rating of 7 ....meaning Incalcuable, in excess of 100 tons
Speed........ rating of 7 ....meaning Warp sped, transcending light speed
Durability.... rating of 6 ....meaning Superhuman
Energy Projection..rating of 6 .....meaning able to discharge multiple forms of energy
Fighting Skill ........rating of 4 ......meaning experienced fighter
In the Marvel handbook: The power rating of SUPERMAN are:
Intelligence ...........?....is what, you tell me.
Strength ...............?
Speed ..................?

He is monst DEFINITELY a super-genius. Not quite to the ridiculous extent of pre-crisis days, but he can still learn a new language in seconds, has a perfect memory, is a master of sciences etc etc.

Superman is a super genius. The Kryptonian Tech is far beyond Earth, in fact, it's so far beyond Earth tech that some of it is purely regarded as 'magic'. A large part of villains he beats, he beats by outsmarting. Some of his rogues gallery are far too powerful to punch out. He knows EVERY Earth language. By looking a an object, he can calculate exact mathematical trajectory, circumference, and density. Or even it's melting point.
Despite that, I think Super-Genius applies to old pre-crisis days, when the writers let him do anything. Gifted or genius is more realistic for him, now. I don't see him coming up with great scientific advances or weapondry, like a Reed Richards.

Now if you follow that list the same one Thors on I would put Superman like this
Superman's file
Intelligence: Gifted (6/10)
Strength: Incalculable (12/12)
Speed: Orbital Velocity (10/10)
Flight Speed: Lightspeed (11/12)
Stamina: Godlike (9/10)
Durability: Demi-godlike Regenerative (12/14)
Agility: Superhuman (6/7)
Reflexes: Superhuman (6/7)
Gotta agree with this one, his strength is incalculable, speed is immense, he is gifted that much can be said about his intelligence, "Super" man is a power house.
Speed stat - running over land, using the Thor site, would be 8 or 9/10. Before Wally found the speed force, he was just short of Mach 1. He and Superman had a race around the world, organized by Mr. Mxyzptlk. Just once around, it was a big strain on both, before Wally won at the finish line. Has Supes received a significant upgrade in his running speed since then? If not, he's an 8 or 9.
