Warning Violence and Sex in games

Violence and Sex in games. Ok this might have been discussed but not like this. to start things off I got the idea from G4( The video game channel) and that the government or something wants to stop this.

Games that have Violence and or sex.

Metal gear solid series

Halo series
Army games
Mortal Kombat series
GTA series
God Of War
Splinter Cell series
Playboy the mansion
Leisure suit larry series
Ninja Gaiden
Resident Evil.
Man hunt
And ect

Discuss if you like these games aswell. Ok so they say kids could get it, and the recent gta san hot coffe retarted code thing set everyone off and the H clitton(I think) was mad and said the rating system messed up and there is sex/nudity in the game as a code that was by passed and wasn't dleted untill some hackers..or w/e found it, so she said if the kids get the game and theres this crap hidden in it ,it is just wrong. I say how stupid can you be because the game is already rated M for mature so kids under 17 can't buy it anyway, and all the violence in that game should of made it clear that it was not for kids in the first place.

I don't know what she is thinking but if a parent buys this game for a kid with a rating of M and knows about the violence then the kids biggest problem is not grand theft auto. Also they raised the M rating to Ao(adults only) so it went from 17 to 18 years of age roll eyes (sarcastic)
alot of difference.

Ok man hunt and God of war and resident evil are so bloody but again has the rating of M so i don't see the problem...

Ok there is alot more but I will speak in time. Discuss. (I also don't even own these games except for Halo, god of war, ninja gaiden and splinter cell)

"H clitton" ?.. rofl

hmm.. games that have violence / sex...... all of them?.. confused

I still dont think violence drives said person to do crazy things... it just becomes an easy scapegoat... i.e.... "the devil made me do it"..

Well while a person is killing in the game they don't have to kill outside because they releaved the tension. Also they compared it it to

Why they all on the video games and not the movies ?
then comes that why are they not on the sims with the sex since they were on gta (before h san) about the hooker thing.

What makes me mad is that she does not even play games or know games at all so i don't get why she opens her mouth and her and others had the nerves to say games are for kids only.

cuz sims isnt as "thuggy" or crime related as GTA.. it makes her look better to people who know very little information about these games.

to us it looks like "Damn.. that skank is trashin on another game"
but to those who dont play games its more like
"Wow, she's putting a stop to things that cultivate violent behavior, lets vote for her"

It is just a political ploy. It is sooo stupid. If a person is going to snap a Game is not going to do it. It my add to it but it is not the main reason. I like most of the games that are rated M or higher. Most of which are the most popular games.

Twilight Princess is rated T, I believe.

And I really think this whole "video games = violence" thing is silly. Violence has existed long before games have. Games with a lot of violence and/or sex are rated M. Meaning you cannot buy them if you're under 17. If a parent buys a kid an M-rated game, well, it's their problem.

Yeah, and they shgouldn't be trying to ban games with violence. I mean even g rated games have cartoon violence. They need to speak to the parents about what they let there kids play and bother them and not the games.

Parents need to pay more attention to the games they're buying for their kids instead of later complaining about the violence.

I mean even the cover on the box has like a dead guy/guns/ and some times blood. I think the mind set is that games are for kids.

Which they all aren't.

It clearly says on the box what the rating is on the front, and on the back it says WHY it is given that rating. If people would pay more attention to that, I don't think there would be so many problems.

Seriously. Don't want your kid killing hookers, don't buy them GTA. Problem solved.

laughing yeah, and now my store got this big sign that has the esrb rating outside the store. I am now 19 and they wouldn't let me get an m game while I was 17 or 18 even though I am taller than the guy and look older. He goes we need id...I was like what the heck, I don't drive so it wouldn't show . Now I am 19 and they still asked me for id..the same guy, when he seen me all those years, and the fact that I go there regularly so they know me. Ok so i showed them finally my college Id which still didn't hav ethe age on it but college is a give away, so they pondered and finally gave it to me. I think they should worry about the 12 year olds picking up the game.

Well, at many place you can be fired for selling M rated games to underage kids, so understandably most people are going to check IDs. I'm nearly 20 and they ask how old I am when I buy games.

I got my license when I was 18, before then I didn't have any sort of ID with my age on it so my mom had to get the games for me.
