Like with the other thread, we are a little over halfway through the year, what're the worst you've seen so far?
It isn't worst five or anything, all of them. Worst is first.
I haven't seen many movies so far this year, so only three movies made my list.
1. Funny Games-Despite hard efforts it just ends up being boring, tedious, and dumb.
2. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian-Doesn't equal the magic of the first, causing it to be uninteresting and only compelling in pieces.
3. The Eye-Not terrible, but doesn't offer up enough thrills or intrigue to stop it from being another generic Japanese remake. Surprisingly Jessica Alba wasn't necessarily bad, she just wasn't great.
I just realized how fortunate I have been this year. I was pretty good at avoiding the crap.
These are the worst I've seen:
You Don't Mess with the Zohan
The Love Guru (though I watched this one directly after Zohan which probably made it seem not as bad considering Zohan was terrible)
Semi-Pro
Be Kind Rewind (not necessarily bad, just disappointing)
Funny thing is, I watched Zohan and Guru last week, so my list would have been half the size had it been a week ago.

I'd have to agree with you. Indy 4 was just such a disappointment for me. Definitely not the worst movie to be released this year, but it's safe to say I expected more from it than I did other movies that were blatantly terrible from the trailers, etc.
As for the worst movie this year? I wouldn't know, I tend to avoid them. I don't watch movies that I think are going to be extremely terrible (ie Meet the Spartans, Meet Dave, etc.).
you know what? Once you mentioned something about the original. I was a bit excited and decided to look it up. I liked this latest version very much, but I had no idea that Hanake remade this movie, shot for shot, from a movie he made ten years ago. i mean wow, just...,wow I am bewildered.
I usually like Hanake, but i do not know what to make of this movie anymore. How is the original?

Well it's movies that people have seen, but I have seen half of Prom Night and Meet the Spartans. For what I saw, it was terrible.(Prom Night might even have been the funnier of the two.)
In my mind, Funny Games was a terrible movie. When I said worst(in my case) I was just putting down the movies I'd seen that I didn't like. Like with Prince Caspian, the movie wasn't terrible by any means but I didn't like it.
It probably will not change your view on the remake since it is almost shot for shot just with different actors, but do check it out to compare it at least. The original deserves the viewing and I prefer the acting in the original compared to the remake. I found the two leads, the boys, more disturbing compared to Pitt and the other guy, probably helped because I'd never seen them before in anything.
havent seen many of those I agree that from the ones I have seen of those mentioned, they were really dissapointing.Vantage Point,The Happening-not surprising since M Night directed it.cant remember the name of it but the one that was supposedly based on true events but wasnt and was a horror movie but the WORST One? got to go with Indiana Jones since it was so bad and not a great flick like the original trilogy was.I wouldnt go as far and be absurd like some people have been saying in other threads saying it was one of the worst movies of all time, thats going overboard, just worst movie of the year probably.
