CPT Steven Hiller and Human Torch vs. Iron Man and Starscream
Hiller is piloting an alien destroyer ship from Independence Day. Remember that this ship has SERIOUS maneuverability. For the sake of this thread, the shields are not present. These alien shields are 100% resistant to anything, even Nukes. Hiller would solo, easily.
Iron Man is in his Mark 1 armor, therefore, giving him limited power so as not to make this fight too one sided.
Torch can go Nova.
Fight takes place above New York City.
All gloves are off. To the death. Civilian casualties be damned.

1) Hiller's shield's are gone. He pilots the alien destroyer that has insane flight agility and plasma weaponry.

Hey, just saying that you should be prepared for the shitfest. Probably won't happen because my name is not attached to the thread. Come to think of it, now that I have said what I said, I can pretty much guarantee you nothing will be said.
I hate that term, "gimped." But OK, let's use it. This thread is much more gimped than the other by me. You gave IM limited powers and took away Hiller's shields. All I did was have all the aircraft go the same speed.
I was just making an observation, dude. Am I not free to speak my mind here?
Now, as for the thread....What are the speed capabilities of each craft? Who is the fastest?

I don't see how this is very gimped. I forgot that the alien ship's shields are 100% resistant to anything, even Nuke's. Hiller WOULD solo, so I removed them. The ship still has insane skills. Iron Man still defeated Iron Monger and saved the hot babe with his Mark 1 suit.
It'd be interesting to have Stark try to figure out the "cold" theory behind the ID4 shields, see him and Starscream try to take them out.

Torch's only chance is to go nova and hope he takes someone down, otherwise he's too slow and too soft of a target, I think the fastest he was shown flying was that of a commercial airliner, somewhere between 500-600mph. Unless someone has a speed-feat I'm forgetting?
So that leaves IM and SS versus the alien fighter and a guy who is a good pilot, but still fairly new to the ship he's flying. Even considering he is used to the craft in this fight, IM will be a hard target due to size and Starscream has the advantage of being the plane, not having the lag of pilot to controls.
Team two takes it. One of them might go down either to nova-blast or alien plasma-bolts. Good move on the shields, as you said "nuke proof".

I agree and it's his only chance, otherwise he's being taking out from range and by much faster opponents.
Though if IIRC, Richard's said something along the lines that Torch could potentially destroy Earth's atmosphere, so he could potentially go all out and kill everyone.
Correct. Reed told Johnny that his Nova could possibly, not certainly, set Earth's atmosphere ablaze. That's why I said in the OP "civilian casualties be damned".

RJ, your accusations of Gimping have only come to being, because of Imp went to make it fairer because your own premature judgement on the situation.
Imp bought your 'Hiller solos' without remembering a few things:
1) TFs can hack computer systems, (removing shields if neccessary) They would be noticably faster/better than Goldblum on an early nineties Mac laptop.
2) And Starscream will ALSO be shielded as larger TFS were shown to be in TFs1.
3) Starscream can out-maneuver, out-speed, and possibly even sexually violate Hillier and his ship in front of Goldblum, his dad, and his estranged ex-wife.
4) Starscream's weapons would WTF pwn torch too, most likely too....let alone the combined assault of

Igniting the 'atmosphere' is impossible. It was seen as a possibility with a thermonuclear weapons (due to the heat) but we figured out that it was not possible.
Reed Richards was going off of old data/science/theories. That won't happen in this versus match-up: it's just not possible.
We do not have to worry about that atmosphere igniting by something flying through it that is a really hot temperature. Case in point, nuclear blasts are in the tens of millions of degrees, they cover a much larger area than THT could cover. If the atmosphere would have ignited, it would have done it with Nukes.
