On paper Sodam should win. He should have faster reflexes, he could just smash away with his strength etc.

Hal pulls something out of the bag, though.

Hal on paper should win, and you bring up his best he will, but the only comparison I can think of under the OP(I'm assuming Riv is disallowing not just Ion but Daxamite powers), Yat on his own did at least as well if not better than Hal and a team(Sinestro, Star Sapphire and more) against Mongul(with multiple SC Power Rings) until Sinestro pulled out a plot hax of "I created the rings, the can control them!!" and used Mongul's own Rings against him. And yep, Yat was a base GL(the Guardian that betrayed everyone to start BLACKEST NIGHT prevented him from accessing Ion) and no Daxamite powers(used them quickly under Daxam's red sun).

Sodam Yat should win.. ..on paper
Let’s not forget that General Zod went 1-1 with Hal. Sodam Yat went to fight SBP. Sure, he lost, but the amount of beating he took is much pretty much insane

Now if we go by feats, it should be a toss up because Sodam doesn’t have the same run as Hal.

Personally, Sodam should win..logically.

Stips in the OP makes me think both Ion access and Daxamite powers are disallowed, both of which he had fighting SBP.

Ah S'OK, thanks for the clarification.

I can't quote JL but yeah so I was right about Ion, wrong about Daxamite powers. Going by that, I want to say Yat due to the only comparison (other than SBP which had Ion) since Yat did so well by comparison with just his Power Ring (no Ion, no Daxamite powers), but Hal's highs make me less sure.

^^^I thought this might be an interesting fight, given what Yat’s accomplished/Hal’s cache of feats.

Yat wthout being the Ion host only has a few showings. He has one where he was getting blasted by the AM. The same AM who killed other GLs with the same attack. Outside of that, nothing noteable to suggests he can hang with someone like Hal.

Hal on the other hand is just insane. The dude’s ring was overloading Kyle. He was able to beat Sinestro with Parallax. Sinestro is without a doubt, the best known user of fear.

Yat may be a Dax/Kryptonian but I can’t give him the full benefit of one. Regardless, we have seen what Hal can potentially do to a Zod (who is/was recovering)
