I liked Sean Peen so much more than Benicio in 21 Grams, thought he was brilliant.

Yeah, I wonder why those got overlooked. School of Rock isn't even Black's funniest role.

Jack Black and Ben Stiller are funny, but I hated those particular movies.

True...it's just that he owned it like I've never seen a role get owned before. If ever a role was made for only one actor in the world to play, it'd be that one.

EDIT:

DeNiro - Raging Bull: "You're very smart Joey. You give me all these answers, but you ain't givin' me the right answer. I'm askin' ya again. Did you or did you not?"

Nicholson - The Shining: "Wendy, darling, light of my life, I'm not gonna hurt ya."

Pacino - Heat: "You can get killed walking your doggy!"

Black - School of Rock: "Yes I was testing you. It's nine"

Stiller - Zoolander: "You can read minds?"

"Top 5 Performances"...not top 5 actors you've seen in the past week and/or are in your (comic book adapted movie) DVD collection.

wink

1.Ralph Fiennes: Schindler's List

3. Hilary Swank: Million Dollar Baby (am i really the only one to have an actress up here???)

4. Liam Neeson: Schindler's List

5. The "runt" who is shot in the foot(his character doesn't have a name in the screenplay so i can't find the actor's name): City of God (he is on screen for only about two minutes and has no speaking part that i can remember, but in one close up of his face he shows more emotion than i ever thought a human face hold. this wonder of a boy has moved me in more in a shot that lasted barely a second than any actor ever has in an entire movie. Phenominal.

honorable mention(not in order)

tom hanks: forrest gump
johnny depp: POTC #1
gregory peck: To Kill a Mockingbird
morgan freeman: million dollar baby
tim robbins:mystic river

f murray abraham: amadeus
robert de niro: raging bull
robert de niro: taxi driver
